  • Pierce Brosnan

Pierce + Bros (English band) + nan (nanny)

(And that was quite the equation, @QBranch!)

    Of course!

(Note: This is not my response to solving @Thunderfinger's rebus. It is in fact the next one.)

I'm gonna go with Red Grant for the win. [Grant from Jurassic Park there.]

  • That's who we're looking for. Over to you, @RichardTheBruce!

    Yeah, tough ones, I know.
  • Well, the green mister is obviously Mr. Greene. I'm afraid I'll have to leave the third one to one of our Arabic-speaking members though. Helga?

    #1, yes, Mr. Greene. Solved!

    #2 hopefully becomes apparent.

#3, you cracked the final syllable @Some_Kind_Of_Hero.

#3 I wanna say Omega, but the middle symbol isn't lining up. Not getting anything from Lammas.

    Omm
    [symbol, or chant]
    May
    [month of]
    [Lady Ga]
    ga

#3 is intended to be Omega as you said, @QBranch. Also you appear to have caught my misapplication of the Gaelic lammas symbol. I'll look at that closer tonight and confirm the correction.

UPDATE: I've changed the incorrect image to something that makes sense above.

    So what is #2?

  • #2 POOW? Petty Officer of the Watch? I seem to recall hearing those letters said by one of the naval officers in Tomorrow Never Dies, perhaps on the HMS Bedford when they're tracking Carver's stealth?

Lol, BMW? (Bowel Movement + W)

Hopefully that isn't what you think of that particular make of vehicle. ;)

    Yes, @Some_Kind_Of_Hero.

And no, I wouldn't be that harsh on the brand. I will say it makes sense as a rental vehicle for Bond on a mission.

Disclaimer: I'm not the first to use that image for a Rebus here.

    You have the floor.

  • Sweet!

    Bond's phone password!
  • Shocking, @QBranch. Correct, but shocking.

    "Recall, 3, Send..."

Seems like kind of an easy thing to accidentally dial in your pocket though.

Also at work @QBranch, I have something loaded on my phone if that's helpful.

    Carefully vetted, too.

    Wish me luck.

First one is classic Rebus, and leads into a related topic I have for later.

For #1 was thinking Ice Cream myself as in the drugged ice cream in John Gardner’s For Special Services but then I dismissed it again. I really must stop doing that, you know.
