For the ice cream relation, yes and more to follow on Gardner. Plus there is the FYEO offer to Bibi.
So: #1 and #2 correct and the floor is @Some_Kind_Of_Hero's.
[from Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever;
Invincible minus Vince, minus Hubble, equals in]
And I'm gonna check out Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas, definitely.
#1
Solo (eyeglass) + tear?
#3: no. I'll reveal these have a Gardner link.
Two syllables, pretty straightforward use of the symbol. Ties to For Special Services of course.
Second image and single syllable to be named.
And the two-syllable Rebus solution featured in the book.
I've been thinking it over but nothing suitable has come to mind yet. It seems I'll have to have a flick through my copy of For Special Services then...
Indeed, it's one of Gardner's crazier and fun entries. Good stuff. :)
@Dragonpol, looking toward book's end will help.
@QBranch, you cheeky bugger. I'll let @Dragonpol take this one.
Funnily enough this morning I had NORAID in my head as being linked to the novel. I'd misremembered what the name was.
Then NORAD (standing for North American Defence Command) came to mind just now and a flick through the novel has confirmed it. I'll declare the answer but I definitely can't claim victory for this one. Therefore the floor is open to the other members who helped with their guesses and clues. :)
So the floor is open if someone has a Rebus ready. And I have a few more Gardner items waiting in the wings.
I found it by saying the initials M R L O quickly like it was one word. Thus, "Emarillo" and then from that "Amarillo".
