Would you rather drink a Campari fireside with Draco OR a Sherry with an unusually fine solera?

Bernard Lee's M strikes the rare balance between a competent leader who you respect while also being likeable at the same time. It's the kind of boss you'd go the extra mile for.

I guess I'd rather report to Lee. I've got a mother of my own, don't need a surrogate one. ;-)

Okay, that's not fair. Still, restricting Bond's freedom in QOS after Bregenz was a dick move. She should've known better. You don't send a 00 on a mission so that he can "behave", but to do what's necessary to get the bloody job done. Lee's M didn't mind Bond shooting up an embassy in Istanbul. Just sayin'. Plus, he and M seem to have shared some interesting experiences in Tokyo once. I wouldn't mind a boss like that. ;-)

Nobody else on Team Dench? Guess it's just me reporting in for some sarcastic banter. I'll do a lot for a crotchety boss who will defend you from outside criticism and, just occasionally, grudgingly, will let slip that they're fond of you.

Bernard Lee's M. He has Bond's back when others doubt him, and he's more than glad to keep 007 in line when needed.

He also doesn't need too much screentime to get those characteristics across.

In addition, he lets 007 get on with the assignment without constantly checking in.
Bond communicating via earpiece with Dench's M feels like a child still needing training wheels for his bike.

I also love how M just lets Bond carry on and go to Rio in MR, though not without a last warning.
  • I’d rather report to Lee’s M. Much as I love and adore Dench as M.

Bernard Lee's M for the reasons you mention. Plus he lives in Marlow so he's a man of taste.

I adore Bernard's M and would welcome him being my boss. He doesn't suffer fools but he does allow for his reports to do their work. Sticks out his neck for Bond on multiple occasions.

Some stand outs for me are TB when he insists on believing Bond when he says Duval was found dead in Shrublands, OHMSS when Bond is pacing the room while M awaits word on what they intend to do with Blofeld's demands.

Something I noticed about Lee's M, is that he seems to be at his grumpiest in the Hamilton directed films.
GF, DAF, LALD and TMWTGG. Surely that can't be a coincidence.

In the scene where Bond visits his house is quite sweet, he's nice, he's also nice in the wedding scene.

I disagree of him being grumpy in TMWTGG, his interactions with Bond are far from the scenes let's say with Robert Brown's M.

Bernard Lee's M was just being professional, he didn't took things personal.

But hey, I'd rather even go with Robert Brown's M than with Judi Dench M, the attitude of Judi Dench M makes Brown's M more nicer.

Judi Dench M was more arrogant to me, look at her comments in TND: "Go eject me, see if I care".

    She's the grumpiest M to date, that's why in Bond 26, I'm hoping for an M that's more like Bernard Lee's M.

Ralph Fiennes M? He's incompetent, irresponsible, (trusted C/Max Denbigh, him being responsible for that nanobots thing) and he's like this teenage boy who goes to argue with someone if his fault was caught on the act, very immature.

Lee’s M. Dench’s M would criticize Bond for problems she started. This happened especially when Purvis and Wade started writing the script. And then she would say he’s the best, and she always believed in him; 🙄.

I believe Hamilton mentions this in his commentary on LALD or it might have been DAF. How he liked the dynamic of a grumpy M who verbally spars with Bond. Hamilton was also responsible for the Bond-Q dynamic that started out antagonistic and by the end of Desmond's time in the role became more fatherly.

Okay lets move on to another would you rather!

Would you rather be stranded with Pam Bouvier on a speed boat in Floridian waters OR stranded with Anya Amasova in an Egyptian desert?
Tough one........Anya's Siberian survival course training may come in useful.
Pam on the other hand is more than willing to have a little fun when the FUEL line is hit with bullets. Then again........... Pam tends to get extremely jealous and annoyed when other Bond beauties are concerned.
Anya may pout when another beauty shows up but won't put up too much of a fuss. She doesn't mind sharing bodily warmth and will only seriously get mad at you if you've killed her ex lover.
Just don't admit it like Bond did, and you're good.

    So I'm going with
    ANYA.

Pam. I like Anya a lot, but Pam more. She has more personality, I love her fieriness, I feel like there’d be more fun back and forth with her.

Tough one. I'd rather hang out with Pam, but a whole desert seems more exciting than being stuck on a tiny boat.

Detente can be beautiful. I'll take Anya. In that Stromberg bikini. Though I must admit that Pam is very attractive too.

Pam, she had a lot more agency, she would've likely to save me and more friendly.

Anya, on the other hand, would likely to leave me alone and just mind herself, if I did something that she disagreed, she would've likely to hate me for that and leave me alone (I'm seeing Anya being more impatient), I mean Pam Bouvier had a lot more patience and more nicer than Anya, and Anya doesn't have much empathy compared to Pam, she's just being cold throughout, meanwhile Pam had some warmth in her.

And Anya would've likely to be more of a damsel than me, with me ending up saving her instead, if she couldn't fight Jaws on her own with her getting knocked out so easily in that train, with even Stromberg tying her up to a chair without doing anything in the climax, what more if in a more dangerous situation?

Therefore, I've never seen Pam in a damsel in distress situations, she saved Bond's life, not once, not twice, but thrice!

Pam could handle far more dangerous situations more than Anya, she could even pilot a helicopter! Pam was more fiercer, adventurous and resourceful than Anya.

Pam was more skillful than Anya.

    So I'd go with Pam.

Pam - she brought a shotgun to a bar fight, saved Bond’s life twice, and looked an absolute fox when she showed up to the bank with her new haircut.

To me this is a no-brainer: Pam. I don't even care where we are stranded. What a cool gal she is. Carey Lowell also looked great with blonde hair in Leaving Las Vegas. Didn't recognize her at first!
