Looks moderately interesting, a mish mash of different 007 films with a Bond that has the face of Connery but the hair of Moore.

Coming to Apple Arcade later this month.

Apple? I'm wondering will there be a version for Android?

Well, I've certainly seen worse from the world of Bond gaming, that's for sure! Not big on mobile games myself but this could be fun.

Someone recently tried to convince me to buy a Switch to play games where you pick up stuff in a room or cook meals for a restaurant. This looks a lot like one of those games. Can't say I understand the appeal without feeling like I'm too obviously killing time. But I have an iPhone so I'll download this and see what's up. It has Little Nellie so that's interesting.
  • Well it certainly looks more promising than the last 007 mobile game. I’ll most definitely be downloading.

Well that looks a bit of fun, better than a slap in the face with a wet fish.

Is that a new version of the Bond theme too? I'm not familiar with it.

Just noticed the end legal lettering mentions MGM and Danjaq but no Eon. Very interesting.

Cypher 007 is a top-down James Bond game coming to Apple Arcade on September 29, publisher Tilting Point has announced.

The game lets players revisit some of Bond's most iconic moments and locations as he attempts to take down the evil criminal mastermind Blofeld, head of Spectre, who is looking to transform Bond into the ultimate double agent.

"Players will be immersed in this beloved universe of espionage as they gather intel, uncover secrets, and use spycraft to overcome immersive levels filled with obstacles, opponents, and objectives that increase in difficulty as they progress," reads the official synopsis.

"Players will complete missions to bring down Blofeld and Spectre once and for all, and compete against other 007 agents around the world via leaderboards to prove they’re the best spy of all time."

A trailer for the game (above) alongside various screenshots (below) were also released and shed more light on the game, which will be available at no extra cost to Apple Arcade subscribers.

From the screenshots there, looks like a old male Q, black Moneypenny, and woman M, though nondescript. They also reinterpret Jaws and I'm guessing that's also Red Grant or Alec Trevelyn as another villain, though they don't name them.

It's because Danjaq and MGM are the ones who hold the Bond copyright and trademark. EON, who is an affiliate of Danjaq, more or less handles the films.

At first i thought it was the cover from the From Russia With Love videogame, but after listening to it again i think it's a completely new one.

It reminds me a little of the LARA CROFT AND THE TEMPLE OF OSIRIS game(s), if it becomes available on PC I will get it, I tend not to play games on mobile phones and tablets other than a rare occasion I have Chromecast a mobile game to my TV..

This feels like it should have been a console game, like James Bond 007 for Game Boy and World of Espionage. Hopefully one day.

Don't hold out much hope for Apple Arcade / mobile games in general, but as I happen to use an iPhone, I will be checking this out.

You realize this is the first 007 video game with a new story since 2012

Good for Apple users, you can now have a Bond game, while us in Google still waiting 😅.

Happy to see some activity in Bond gaming, although I want to avoid anything Apple and hope I can get it on Android in future. The top down view reminds me of QOS for DS and that was fun enough.

We've been so starved of developments in this space that I'll take just about anything these days. I'll still say though, for a mobile game that came out of nowhere, this one does look pretty enticing.

Never played the DS version of QOS but that makes at least three different versions of that title, does it not? I only ever played the Xbox 360 version and it still stands as one of my favorite gaming memories and some of the most pure fun I've ever had with a first person shooter.

That's right, three different versions of QOS, I have it on DS and PS2, which from memory, the latter had a different aiming system or lack of 3rd person view compared to the next gen version, or something to that effect.

The PS2 version was entirely third person, I believe, whereas the 360/PS3 versions were first person but had third person view when you entered cover, like the Rainbow Six: Vegas titles I also adored.

Ah yes, been many years since I played QOS, but I remember not being a fan of the aiming.

On the topic of mobile games, did anyone happen to play 007 Ice Racer back in the day? This was a couple of years before I had my first phone.

I didn't know that game. Looks like one of those old Lotus Challenge games. Or Top Gear.

I mostly used to play Bounce and Snake back in the days of the simpler phones.

Is it me or the SPECTRE logo that's in the game is the one in SPECTRE (2015)?

But the Bond here is clearly the classic one (that Connery/Moore look vibes), but maybe the SPECTRE organization here would be similar to Craig Era version?

I think the game is meant to be a homage to all eras of Bond.

I didn't realize you'll need a subscription to play it. In good news, if you get it, there will be zero microtransactions afterward, which is nice. If you've never tried out Apple Arcade, there's even a free one month trial available. I think I'll give this a shot when it releases at the end of the month.
