With 2024 coming to a close soon, let's look at 2025. What James Bond news do you hope to see? It could be anything Bond related.

For me:

Another adult Bond novel, or another spinoff series, from IFP.
Kim Sherwood finishes her Double-00 trilogy.
Dynamite Comics either ends or renews their IFP contract.
Project 007 gets a true title, or general news.
The Q Mysteries hopefully makes its release date in October 2025.
Bond 26 director (and screenwriters apart from P & W) get announced.
IFP restores Fleming's original text to his books.

That's all I can think of for now.

IFP publishing an affordable edition of Ian Fleming's recently unearthed Moonraker film script would be a nice treat for us literary Bond fans. Other than that a new adult Bond continuation novel would be welcome news in 2025.

    More expanded soundtrack re-releases.

Also, the usual Bond research books.
Biographies of those associated with the series.
Hopefully, Gail Simone's Iridescent from Dynamite Comics will start its publication.
There are other wishes for me, but if I say them (possibly again) they probably won't come true.

Activity on the Canada front would be interesting. Projects acting on the public domain stories and novels. And now there is the Japan example that can trigger product.

Even more of interest since there are no rogue McClory productions possible now. Not even musicals, apparently.

Would like to see them really nail the 4K HDR remaster/restoration of Connery films, and then hopefully announce Roger's films next. Also, a big remastered collector's OHMSS 4k HDR steelbook would be nice since Lazenby's only got one.

Finally getting the last Folio Society Bond piece to come out (Octopussy & The Living Daylights), some update even if small of the new game that’s been in development for a long time, the rumored 4K Blu-Ray Connery films and maybe even more, and finally of course, some type of movement on Bond 26, even if it’s not much. There’s a lot that could happen next year, and if all the chips fall the right way, it could be a super awesome year for Bond fans. We’ll see, though. Anything’s possible, good or bad.

First I'm hearing about this, but also this.
Any announcements on Bond 26 are of course welcome as well.

It would make sense, as it is the 70th anniversary of Moonraker. Maybe, (I'm repeating myself, I know), a Dynamite Comics version of the story. Unfortunately, it sounds like Van Jensen is done with Bond, for now. Maybe a re-release of Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz, for it's 10th anniversary.
Also, surprisingly, more Lego sets about various Bond scenes.

I know it probably won't happen, but I would like to see some of the Bond films return to the big screen on a limited run here in the US. Perhaps EON could to it promote the scheduled 4K releases of the Connery films?

    Anticipating:
game; comic; continuation novel, expanded anniversary soundtracks. In that order.

    Expecting:
more overpriced and underwhelming luxury items from 007Store dressed in black and/or silver; a teddy bear in a bowtie. In that order.

Maybe in bigger cities, like your NYC. Bond should always go back on the big screen, for generation after generation.

I agree with your anticipation list. In your order, ironically. As for your expecting list, I agree, the 007 store will always find products to overprice for us fans. But, most don't fall for them.

Another one of my "but it will never happen" wishes for 2025 is that the early Bond films (DN to OHMSS ?) would be made available to Turner Classic Movies here in the U.S. It would be great exposure for the series and allow general movie fans to see these films within the larger context of movie history.

The connections between the Bond series - especially early on - and "classic" films are numerous. And if the responses to my tweets about Bond are any guide, many (if not most) fans of these films also appear to be 007 fans. That is something EON should encourage IMO. A couple of months ago, for example, TCM devoted an entire evening to celebrate Robert Shaw, and it would have been great - as several people noted online - if they had been able to broadcast FRWL.

We have a theatre here in Vancouver that did a Bond Retrospective once, and it was fantastic. I'm always watching to see if they'll do it again.

Both would be great, to help younger generations get into Bond faster. Everything or Nothing in particular deserves a modern day video game restoration. It's a shame that it wasn't done this year, for it's 20th anniversary. It's one of my favorite Bond adventures from the last 30 years.
