Why did they delete this scene... Kinda wished they didn't

From a filmmaking perspective, I think it was wise to delete this scene. Assuming that the final scene with Bond and Yusef either directly preceded or directly followed the Haines/White scene, it would have most likely been a rather awkward sequencing of events to end the film.

I loved those photos of the girls with Craig. I remember seeing those a bunch when CR first started up, they were great little behind-the-scenes promo type images.

@barryt007, those are the only two photos from the alternate ending that exist, I believe. As I (and many others) have said before, the only way we'll ever see the alternate ending, sadly, is by watching what's presented in video game format with the QoS game. I'd love to get my hands on the real version some day.

And then of course it were the clip from the Danish TV-show which showed a B-Roll from the aforementioned scene.

@MrBond, have you any idea if that clip still exists? I feel like that should still be around, even if the alternate ending isn't. I want to say I've seen that B-roll clip, though, but I could be wrong.

@Creasy47, I'm afraid that the clip is removed. I haven't seen it in ages, but I wouldn't be too surprised if someone has it laid away somewhere.

Yeah, I just did a bit more research on it. All I can find are details. I do hope that one day...some lonely day...we get a QoS Collector's Edition. I read that Forster did a new commentary for the film a few months after it was released, that was going to be done for a future edition of QoS on home video, so who knows.

    Wow, thanks for finding/posting that.

"It wasn't your fault, but they know who you are."

So I'm guessing White shows up at Guy's place, kills him (or attempts to), then that's when Bond comes in.

    Really nice find there @ggl007.

Actually, the user "mvkontze" is me. :D

The description of the video says: "The danish TV channel TV2 aired a special doc about the actor Jesper Christensen, Mr. White from CR and QOS, in which contains some of the scenes from the original finale of the movie.

@marketto007, I didn't even look at who uploaded it! I knew I recognized that mug from somewhere. ;)

It's weird how a good majority of the B-roll footage we see containing Jesper is the alternate ending, yet we can't get it in its entirety.

That was the clip, great find @ggl007

It's such a shame about the unreleased home-video edition of QoS. I mailed Fox Home Entertainment (the distributors of the films on DVD/BR) and their answer was back in 2012 or 2013 "There are plans, but nothing for the immediate future".

    So sometime perhaps..

We should e-mail them once again and see if anything has updated in the past year or two. Could prove interesting.

They will surely release it at some stage,i just dont know why they are holding onto it this long...thinking about it,Bond could catch White and Haines at any time,as long as DC has not aged enough in the flick being filmed..

Perhaps they're holding on to it until (at least) after Craig's era, just to ensure it doens't interfere or counteract and confuse the rest of Craig's films. To be blunt, they may want to carry on the story or at least don't want to take Quantum completely off the table, so its best to keep this wrapped up until they're sure they're done with the plot points from CR and QoS.

I don't see the harm in releasing it as an alternate ending special feature. There are lots of films released that had alternate endings on the DVD/blu-rays, then created a sequel. Would an alternate ending released on blu-ray really confuse audiences in the future?

    Agreed.
This is how Craig looked like in that scene:

I think there are more deleted scenes from other Bond films, and we haven't seen them yet. Skyfall had plenty of them, right?

@Superintendent, SF did, indeed. Some planned scenes that weren't shot and some scenes that were shot and not shown, such as the one where Severine meets Patrice in Shanghai to give him the briefcase.

I could be wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that there's one hour of filmed material left out of the finished film.

Left out of SF? Really? Wow. I could see an hour extra being made out of all the scenes they were going to film but didn't, but I didn't think an hour or so existed out there.

Here's a quick find from another forum:

Sam Mendes has said that he is brutal in the editing process and he's been true to his word. Quite a few scenes appear to have been chopped or dropped completely. Here's what we know so far:

dialogue between Bond and Eve in the car in Istanbul before he grabs the wheel and sideswipes Patrice's car - "Trust me", etc.

Eve observes Istanbul motorcycle chase from rooftop position

M and Tanner go through security at the Whitehall office building before their first meeting with Mallory - includes some decent humour when M takes exception to being searched

Tanner reads Bond's obituary as he and M wait to see Mallory

M's assistant Vanessa rushes to her computer shortly before the MI6 explosion

exterior shots of M and Tanner attending the agents' funerals, featuring a longer Michael G. Wilson cameo

Bond runs alone through Regent's Park as part of his recovery (seen in teaser trailer)

possible scene in Bond's London hotel room

Severine hands Patrice the briefcase at Shanghai International Airport (seen in videoblogs)

closer shot of Patrice falling from Shanghai office tower (seen in trailer and TV spots)

Bond showering in Macau hotel room

dialogue between M and Mallory in his office - "He's in the South China Sea", etc.

M and Tanner drive out of the underground bunker towards Whitehall ahead of the inquiry

M and Tanner go through security at the Whitehall office again - humour linked to earlier scene which was also dropped

alternate shot of Bond shooting three times into inquiry room (seen in trailer and TV spots)

shot of Bond avoiding debris in Skyfall Lodge, as M and Kincade hide under arch in the corner

    The funeral scene:

I remember the jogging, "He's in the South China Sea," and "What do you say about a man like that?" bits from the trailers. It seems there is a good bit. I wonder if that'll ever see the light of day, as well. At this rate, they should just release a DC Bond Ultimate Edition: all the commentaries, featurettes, and deleted scenes from QoS and SF, while re-releasing the Collector's Edition of CR alongside it all, as that one is pretty pricy these days. I picked it up day one and all the deleted scenes and special features are great.

As @JWESTBROOK said, that will probably happen after Craig's era.

I think they hold the so-called "Ultimate Edition" of QoS just because they don't see the market for it at this point. The movie is almost forgotten and if it is remembered it is as "the shitty Craig movie". And that is unfortunate.
