He wears the same clothes later on a plane, but they are dust-free, which means Goldfinger's men removed the dust while he was sleeping. :-?

It's incredible to think Bond could have become American under Cubby's watch. It doesn't make any sense when you think about it. However, Brolin was screentested, he got good comments from Glen, and Gavin was signed up for Bond! Amazing what could have been.

I'm glad so glad that never happened. Neither Craig nor Brosnan have a very strong accent on film but that's about as far as I want to go.

James Brolin would have been a nightmare Bond...eventually ,in maybe his 3rd film,his American accent would slip in and he is just too wooden.....

Give me Sam Neill or Lewis Collins over him any day...

Bond is one of the few franchises that can get away with almost anything. It's pretty much bulletproof. It's survived double taking pigeons, JW, CGI surfs and Denise Richards.

As long as they execute well, any premise, including the most outlandish (or even perhaps an American, as long as he's Clooney or Hamm) can work in a Bond context.

The English accent was not among the overreaction reference. The acting was.

Nevertheless, it was a screen test to see if "Americanizing Bond" would've worked. And it didn't.

Again, saying it was "horrible" was very much an overreaction. Don't take it as a James Bond screen test. Take it as something else. Felix Leiter if you will.
