It's actually interesting the lengths they went in order to differentiate Moore from Connery, as opposed to when Lazenby was in the role.

Never found attraction to revolvers myself. Always preferred an automatic. But yes, back in the 50s and 70s (excluding the most of the 60s) the revolvers were pretty popular and pulpy, the Colts in the '50s and the .44 Magnums in the '70s.

They attempted to make automatics for concealed carry during the late 50s and the entirety of the 60s but it just didn't work for a fully engaged field work, hence as you see the Beretta 418 jammed in Bond's holster in From Russia, With Love. The Beretta 950 Jetfire wasn't a great one either. The barrel was too vulnerable.

I think the Glocks started building helluva of compact pistols since the 1990s and the firearms of sorts (automatic) developed from there.

Yep, it is from TWINE. I think the promotional photo sessions for that film are the greatest bunch of the Brosnan era. It feels being the peak of his Bond, especially when one remembers the time it came around.

Many of these shots are used for Nightfire.
