Once again a film that looks beautiful, but will probably fail because of its story and treatment of characters.

Let's hope not. Kinberg already screwed the Phoenix in The Last Stand. Hopefully he found a way not to screw it again.

The fact that looks extremely dramatic raise the bar of the ambitions of this movie. Having said that the risk of failing hard is a real possibility. I'm pretty sure the movie will underperform even if it's good. Interesting that the movie seems super women centric. Critics will love it. XD

The problem is they shouldn't be retreading the same story that The Last Stand was, which seems to be what they're doing, just with a few tweaks here and there. If it was up to me or if I was the MCU, I would actually make The X-Men a high-budget television series on Netflix or something else. It would give time to deal with the characters properly and set-up things that are often always rushed in these big budget movies. I would also go back to the 60's with the original team, and do them properly.

I don't see so many similarities with that Ratner directed garbage to be honest. They're re-doing a couple of scenes (like the battle at Jean house etc) but they're capital moments also in the comic...

If this movie is any good...... I’ll be amazed ;)

My biggest wtf is why aren’t they using the costumes from the end of Apocalypse?!?

I will end up buying Dark Phoenix as I have all the films and classic cartoon, though the acting seems a bit off from Sophie Turner.

Is this confirmed to be the last of the Fox Marvel movies?

Yeah its the last one as I believe the sale to Disney is complete now, there were rumours that the film was going to get pulled from release.

Dark Phoenix and New Mutants are the last two Fox X-Men films.

I forgot about New Mutants I recall they are having extensive reshoots and changing the tone of the film?

Shame. I like the X-Men in their own universe.

Me too. But we'll always have our favourites on disks.

Maybe there is a cliffhanger a or pcs that will show us that there will be a continuation?

The latest trailer looks not bad btw. But I still prefer JLaw bodypainted as Mystique...

Yeah I don't know why I keep hearing this film is a train wreck. The last 2 trailers for it make it seem like a perfectly serviceable fun superhero action fare. Definitely not amongst the best the genre has to offer, but also definitely not the bottom tier horror that I keep reading about.

Because that's how things get done nowadays. People drop comments left and right, usually without an ounce of information to work with. Just check out our B25 prod thread. ;-)

I for one will be seeing this latest X-Men film. I have confidence it won't let me down. And after that, we'll see what happens if Disney tries to include the X-Men in their Avengers series.

    She'll kill us all mate.

The "are you threatening me" moment looks like so cool.

Cyclops is the whiney bitch he always was :-) ;-)

Wasn't a fan of the first trailer, but the last couple have been interesting. It looks much better than Apocalypse. Turner isn't a great actress but she seems to have the naive rage thing down pretty well here. I was going to see it anyway as it's the last X-Men film, but it's nice to know it might actually be a decent film.

    Apocalypse was so dull :(

X2 & DOFP are in my top three of superheromovies of all times :D

I like them both very much. Logan, on the other hand, I consider to be a masterpiece of the genre.

I'd heard rumor of some shareholders meeting where an almost complete cut was taken quite negatively. Most of the criticisms at the time were leveled at the actors' performances.

First Class is a film I love. Mainly because MF's Connery performance. But there was behind the scenes drama about who actually directed it. Can someone please enlighten myself and members here please?

I remember a screenplay credit issue on account of the film originally being a Magneto origin story, but nothing to do with Matthew Vaughn.
