The footage is in the film maker profile of Second Unit Director Alexander Witt.

So many great unused shots we were discussing @PropertyOfALady, particularly those sweeping countryside shots and some of the overhead ones used to spice up the poker game at Casino Royale.

    Oh, I'm not crazy.

By the way, did anybody do this back in the day?

Would Sean Connery had stayed on as Bond had they made OHMSS first then YOLT?

    Good question.
Depends on who directed OHMSS with Connery, and how Connery reacted to it.
I have no complaints as to how the series has turned out.

Connery was bothered by journalists hounding him, and by not being paid fairly for his work. If they had made OHMSS before YOLT, would those things have changed? He would've avoided the Japanese press, so that might've made a difference. The money would've been the same, I guess.

I did until I read the book YOLT. The book is so much better and ruined the movie for me.

And rather than Roald Dahl, they should've hired Alistair MacLean for the screenplay. Even if it wasn't to follow the revenge angle after the OHMSS in terms of chronology, it could have incorporated the non-vengeful elements so beautifully from the book, especially with MacLean's somewhat of an obsession with castles, think about the suspenseful and compelling scenery as Bond infiltrates Shatterhand's castle. What could have been!

I've always assumed so. It would have been a meatier, more challenging part, and he wouldn't (yet!) have had that horrid experience in Japan. I also think that it would be safe to assume that the film would have been much better received by critics and audiences (possibly it would have even been considered the pinnacle of the series at the time), hence it would have been followed up with a much more accurate conclusion o the BLOFELD TRILOGY in YOLT. If only. And if that had worked out, the next Bond (I guess we could assume Moore) would have probably followed up with more faithful adaptations of TMWWTG, DAF and LALD (and I'm assuming that would be the order in that scenario).

The plan was to make OHMSS after GF, so we can only assume it would have been Terence Young directing, and then what?

A question from me: Why use a helmet when utilizing a jetpack? Would it not do as much damage to the skull as the ground if you plummeted? Would make more sense to use elbow and knee padding.

Good point. Should have worn a helmet while driving a convertible as well.

The stuntman didn't want to do the stunt without a helmet. And frankly, I agree with him. Case in point : what happened to Gil Delamare.

MacLean and Bond could have been a good fit, also for continuation novels.

I'm not sure who MacLean is.

I'm not sure who MacLean is.

Alistair MacLean, author of The Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, Where Eight Bells Toll, Puppet on a Chain, and so many others, the majority having been adapted as movies, or TV movies.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alistair_MacLean

If you haven't read his books, chances are, you've seen one of the movies, at least. And yes, as a continuation author, he would have been good.

One of his later titles, RIVER OF DEATH, shares its title with a Bond comic by Lawrence and Horak.

Does anyone know why former Bonds weren’t invited to the Skyfall premiere?

EON got them all together for the 40th, just curious why they didn’t do the same for the 50th.

So we all know the 12th James Bond Jr. published in US. But there is also 10 rare mini-comics. During last year I menaged with a friend to track 7 of them (http://www.commander007.net/2018/02/a-decouverte-de-quelques-comics-rares-de-james-bond-jr/) :

    - V.I.P. Treatment
    - Dressed To Kill
    - Close Encounters Of The S.C.U.M. Kind!
    - Thunder In The Congo!
    - Venetian Bind!
    - Slay bells in the snow
    - Peak Performance!
    - Race To The Finish!

    0-7.jpg

Well did somebody have the last three mini-story? I mean there existence aren't even listed anywhere on internet. Could be great to list them (I mean it's probably one of the last Bond thing that aren't listed).

Connery was contracted to play Bond one more time after TB. If they had done OHMSS then he would have done it. Doubt it would have changed his tune about leaving the role. Yes he would lose the Japan media, but would have gained a lengthy shoot in snow and mountains. Not sure which is worse.

They were set to do OHMSS after GF but then McClory approached with TB and they agreed to do it. Then they were going to do OHMSS but decided against it as they described OHMSS has TB on skis.

If only what mind have been. To me its the greatest what if in the whole series. Only with what if the Remington Steele producers had released Pierce from his contract and he was in TLD.
