@00Agent I would agree. It's still in my top 5 or 6. A true classic of the series.

Pierce Brosnan to star in the heist film The Misfits, directed by Renny Harlin.

Set mostly in the Middle East, The Misfits follows the story of renowned criminal Richard Pace, who finds himself caught up in an elaborate gold heist that promises to have far-reaching implications.

Renny Harlin. Wasn't he the one who said he'd only direct Bond if they ditched Dalton? Apt.

Poor choice of title though as this film will inevitably be compared to the Gable/Monroe classic

Exactly. I prefer the Monroe/Gable epic already. Great film, IMO.

Good movie and no doubt difficult to compare I expect.

I hope Pierce is in “suave mode” for this one.

I don't know why they bother to remake well-regarded films and change everything about them. Renowned criminal? Middle East? What happened to cowboys and Nevada?

Tut, tut. Brosnan, Harlin, you should know better.

Read up on your Hollywood history and find that there have always been remakes of earlier movies, I do not mind them as long as they are an improvement.

I don't think it's a remake, is it? Sounds like a totally different story. It's just the title will always be associated with Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe's last film.

So this Harlin flick will sort of be overshadowed.

    It's not a remake.

Brosnan literally stopped aging 10 years ago. He really seems to enjoy himself lately, in every picture I've seen of him.

And my childhood hero. If I can meet one Bond actor it would be Brosnan.

Just kidding, Pierce was like a father to me.
Having been able to see the guy in person last year was a life changing experience for me.

Sadly I was never able to meet him, but 2 years ago he arrived at local airport which is literally 5 minutes from my place. If only I knew that he was coming.
