1. Casino Royale- 4.36 Not my favourite, I love things about CR but don't rate it very high because there are so many things there that I truly dislike. But it's top when it comes to Bond, Bond-girl, villain, soundtrack, title song, PTS and title sequence. I guess that's something ;)
2. Goldfinger- 4.30 One of my bottom 10 entries perhaps.
3. From Russia With Love- 4.26 my #1 :-bd
4. Skyfall- 4.20 Number 2/3 ex aequo with OHMSS
5. The Living Daylights- 4.11 top 5, no complaints here
6. Thunderball- 4.09 I don't dislike it, I quite like it, but I don't love it. Would move it down.
7. The Spy Who Loved Me- 4.06 Love it! My earliest Bond memory ;;)
8. Licence To Kill- 4.03 One of the bottom ones, I'm afraid, though I rate it high in both Bond and villain categories.
9. On Her Majesty's Secret Service- 3.99 Please see SF comment above :D
10. For Your Eyes Only- 3.91 Love it, one of my favourites.
11. You Only Live Twice- 3.90 Another of my favourites, although I can see the flaws.
12. Live And Let Die- 3.81 I like it but I don't love it, bottom half for me.
13. GoldenEye- 3.80 My first Bond in the big screen, Top 10, best Brosnan film.
14. Octopussy- 3.73 I keep a soft, warm place in my cold heart for this one /:) an underrated jewel (no pun intended)
15. Tomorrow Never Dies- 3.71 My favourite Brosnan interpretation, top half.
16. Dr. No- 3.57 Love it, it's been climbing my ranking for a few years now.
17. Quantum Of Solace- 3.43 I really, really like this one. Don't judge me but I rank it higher than CR, top entry! There's something about this film that holds a certain appeal to me. It only bothers me that so much potential could have resulted into one of the best Bond films ever!
18. A View To A Kill- 3.31 I like the Renault and the theme song, and that'll be all :|
19. The World Is Not Enough- 3.20 I used to rank this so high! Can't imagine why!?
20. The Man With The Golden Gun- 3.09 I would place it slightly higher.
21. Diamonds Are Forever- 2.99 I would move it up ever so slightly... Or maybe not.
22. Moonraker- 2.96 Deserves this place.
23. Die Another Day- 2.70 May it stay here till the end of time.
I really enjoyed reading your comments, and you inspired me to comment a tad more on my own. Which I will do in a bit. And, like I said, my rankings move around, too. But at least we have some set things (for me, FRWL will always be near the top, for example) and it is fun to discuss.
Cheers!
I would also like to thank @4EverBonded for continuing this stellar thread.
Anyway -
I was most impressed by the ranking of the Originals thread; it had so much diversity. I would expect the sixties to dominate the results, with maybe a couple of Dalton and Craig's thrown in there.
The Originals ~
1. Casino Royale- 4.36
2. Goldfinger- 4.30
3. From Russia With Love- 4.26
4. Skyfall- 4.20
5. The Living Daylights- 4.11
6. Thunderball- 4.09
7. The Spy Who Loved Me- 4.06
8. Licence To Kill- 4.03
9. On Her Majesty's Secret Service- 3.99
10. For Your Eyes Only- 3.91
11. You Only Live Twice- 3.90
12. Live And Let Die- 3.81

20. The Man With The Golden Gun- 3.09
21. Diamonds Are Forever- 2.99
22. Moonraker- 2.96
23. Die Another Day- 2.70
As many people have mentioned where is Dr No!? To me Dr No is a classic, iconic Bond film. I guess the scoring didn't do too many favours to Dr No, it seems. Another big surprise it that CR tops the Originals list; I thought it would be either, FRWL, GF or OHMSS. Still, I guess that says a lot about Craig's Bond. If he can impress the Originals he can't be too bad.
Thanks to @Thunderfinger for compiling the other users results.

The bottom tends to be the same with us Bond fans. Although, I have an unusual appreciation for TWINE. The two Dalton's are in the top ten, and OP is the same! QoS is 5 positions higher on mine, and GF is significantly lower than 2nd. Both FYEO and YOLT are much higher on the Originals, than on mine, but I guess that's just my love of the Brozz.
Re the soundtracks and theme songs: I bet there were legalities involved, as well as artists' egos and of course, the money. (I just flashed back to Cyndi Lauper's song: "Money Changes Everything" - ha!)
Thanks for your comments and for re-posting the lists. I think you are right that the bottom 3 or 4 will be pretty much the same for Bond fans, but the top 10 surely differs between many of us. As I mentioned, I had FRWL as my #1 for a long time. You do have a strong appreciation for TWINE, which seems to have dropped lower for many Bond fans on here. I still enjoy it a bit, but don't rank it as highly as you do. Glad to see Skyfall in your top 10, too. And you are a major fan of OHMSS.
I feel guilty over leaving, lets say, FYEO or YOLT lower down, but looking at the films above these two...
My first Bond film in the cinema was DAF - ha! Fell in love with Sean (I was 13). And I adored that movie when I first saw it; it totally dazzled me. I wanted to be in that film! Now it is, alas, much lower down on my list. Goldeneye and TND (the best Brosnan Bond, really great) I enjoy now as much as I did the first time; they are both great Bond films for me.
2. From Russia with Love (3, 1)
3. Casino Royale (1, 3)
4. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (9, 2)
5. GoldenEye (13, 9)
6. Skyfall (4, 4)
7. Dr. No (16, 6)
8. The Spy Who Loved Me (7, 10)
9. Licence to Kill (8, 11)
10. For Your Eyes Only (10, 12)
11. You Only Live Twice (11, 14)
12. The Living Daylights (5, 7)
13. Tomorrow Never Dies (15, 18)
14. Thunderball (6, 8)
15. Quantum of Solace (17, 17)
16. The World is Not Enough (19, 16)
17. Live and Let Die (12, 13)
18. Octopussy (14, 15)
19. Diamonds are Forever (21, 20)
20. Moonraker (22, 21)
21. Die Another Day (23, 23)
22. A View to a Kill (18, 22)
23. The Man With the Golden Gun (20, 19)
What I learned from this list is that I have relatively bland taste in Bond. The biggest differences are GoldenEye, Dr. No (with the originals, anyway), The Living Daylights, and Thunderball.
#1 The Living Daylights (5)
#2 License To Kill (8)
#3 Tomorrow Never Dies (15)
#4 Goldeneye (13)
#5 Doctor No (16)
#6 Thunderball (6 *Yahtzee!*)
#7 You Only Live Twice (11)
#8 The World Is Not Enough (19)
#9 Quantum Of Solace (17)
#10 Goldfinger (2)
1.OHMSS-but any top six film is a worthy winner.
2.GF
3.DN-I love this more than most.
4.FRWL
5.CR
6.SF
7.FYEO-ditto for this,my first film and still in my top ten.
8.TSWLM
9.TLD
10.LTK
11.QOS-Undeservedly hated because of CR brilliance, a good film on its own.
12.LALD
My bottom five:
19.MR
20.GE-I have some soul mates, but we are in the minority.
21.TND-a tad lower than most
22.TWINE-same
23.DAD-never saw anyone rank this as no.1. The only film to achieve this.
Well, @Soundofthesinners, you are not bland. I say that especially because your personal list is a bit similar to mine ... and besides no one's opinion is bland! ;)
Again, here are my top 12 but with the Originals ranking in parentheses
1. Casino Royale (same, at #1)
2. From Russia With Love (3)
3. Skyfall (4)
4. Goldeneye (13 - whoah!)
5. The Spy Who Loved Me (7)
6. Tomorrow Never Dies (15 - really?!) :-?
7. For Your Eyes Only (10)
8. The Living Daylights (5)
9. Dr. No (16 - oh come on, now!)
10. Live and Let Die (12)
11. Goldfinger (2 - I love it, just not that much compared to other fine Bonds)
12. Octopussy (14)
I will do the rest of mine in a day or two.
@chrisisall, you know I'm happy someone else has Brosnan in their top ten. Oh yeah! And you have one more Brosnan film than me in your top ten. Sláinte!
@Thunderfinger, both you and soundofthesinners are part of the popular group who really, really like OHMSS a lot. I say popular because on MI6 I think the film is held in high esteem. But you also have several in your top ten that I do. :D
And so do many of you, probably. This is interesting and rather fun.
By the by, I am going on a field trip tomorrow (to play in snow!!!) with my kindergarten students, so I won't be contributing here until later that evening. I do hope more of you post and compare to the Originals (and to the other thread's group rankings, too).
Thanks, everybody! :-bd
The DN and OHMSS discrepancies are very interesting. They are both very atypical of the whole period for different reasons. Maybe they are more easy to appreciate when you discover them all in retrospect? I know the comparisons are not quite fair, as there were categories to be rated here, but still fun to compare. Thanks for keeping the thread going.
Comparing my rankings to the Originals, it stacks up like this.
1. CR....(FRWL)
2. GF.....(CR)
3. FRWL.....(DN)
4. SF.....(SF)
5. TLD.....(OHMSS)
6. TB.....(TSWLM)
7. TSWLM.....(GF)
8. LTK.....(FYEO)
9. OHMSS.....(GE)
10. FYEO.....(TLD)
11. YOLT.....(LALD)
12. LALD.....(MR)
13. GE.....(OP)
14. OP.....(YOLT)
15. TND.....(QoS)
16. DN.....(TB)
17. QoS.....(AVTAK)
18. AVTAK.....(TWINE)
19. TWINE.....(LTK)
20. TMWTGG.....(DAF)
21. DAF.....(TND)
22. MR.....(TMWTGG)
23.DAD.....(DAD)
There are many similarities between myself and the Originals. We have 8 of the same films in the Top Ten although most are in different spots. I have two films ranked exactly the same and seven films just one spot away from each other.
My major differences include DN (which many have commented on) being 13 places apart in the rankings. I understand the limitations of this particular system but it does stick out as the biggest injustice of this project. I have LTK ranked 11 spots below the Originals. It's not a big surprise on this site but I'm always fascinated by the amount of praise that this particular release gets. Some have commented on how the film has grown on them but I was disappointed in it in 1989 and remain that way in 2014. I doubt that will ever change at this point. There was a difference of 10 spots from me and the Originals in regards to TB and MR. I find TB to be generally overrated but understand what people see in it. Likewise, I think that MR is underrated but I can understand why some find it so disappointing.
It's my #2. Dalton & Davi. Gotta love double D's. ;)
As for this thread, thanks for sharing and commenting! I hope several others post here, even if not an Original. Thanks for sharing your rankings, Sandy, Thunderfinger, royale65, chrisisall, Soundofthesinners, and pachazo! I find this really interesting, looking at how we rank the Bond films compared to the Originals group ranking. Good thoughts and comments, too. Dr. No, OHMSS, and LTK are three Bond films that seem to be rather varied in our own rankings, especially compared to the Originals. DAD, however, is universally at or towards the bottom (oh, so not a surprise).
Please remember, everyone's rankings/comparisons to the Originals rankings are welcome. You don't need to list all the films unless you feel like it. (Sometimes, especially if you have not written up your own rankings for a while, it could feel like too much work). Top 12? Less or more ... anything would be great to read. Elaborations welcome for sure. Putting the numeral in parentheses is a pretty quick and easy way to do the comparison to the Originals rankings.
Just a special shout out to: @OHMSS69, @BeatlesSansEarMuffs, @NicNac, @Lancaster007, @thelivingroyale, @Murdock, @WillyGalore, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, @Mrcoggins, @Creasy47, @CommanderRoss, @DarthDimi ... and, well, actually many more folks ~ we'd enjoy reading a bit about your rankings here - or any comments about our rankings - on this thread, too, even though I know you also post on other threads.
Let me sum up by saying this: This thread has been growing steadily over the past couple of years, building steam, getting to this point. It contains a real treasure trove of information, facts, trivia, and well thought out opinions and discussions. That is thanks to SirHenry, who started it, guided it, and gave us a wealth of information, provided professional level music information and opinion, asked thoughtful questions, and gave us good challenges. I am sure he would be happy to know that we are continuing this thread, even though it will be in going in different directions in the future. But yes, he would be pleased that we have helped round out and finish the task he set before himself and all of us. Many thanks to all of you.
Cheers! :)>-

As you can see, my own ranking puts Dr. No significantly higher than does the Originals' list. Additionally, I have Goldeneye substantially higher on my own list than does the collective judgment of the Originals! The Moore films as a whole rank somewhat lower for me than they do for the assembled Originals, and Brosnan's efforts are somewhat higher on my list than on the Originals'. In a few days, I'll try to compare my initial list to my actual scores in the Originals' rankings -- I suspect there will be a few interesting discrepancies!
I enjoy looking at it all, discrepancies and similarities.
I'll try to get my entire list up tomorrow, with a brief comparison to the Originals.
And thanks again for participating with all your fine reviews.
I think Dr. No will be ranked differently (higher) from the Originals for most members; just my gut feeling about that.
I concur!
:-<
But a lot of it I did not care for; such a mixed bag.
Welcome to this thread! I hope you will continue with our ongoing discussions.
And I must say SirHenry (who started and helmed this fine thread) would approve of much of your top 12. Goldfinger was his favorite and also he loved Dalton's Bond and OHMSS. I personally am happy to see you list The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye, and Skyfall in your top ten.
It is interesting to look at how our group ranking (of the Originals) compares to our individual rankings. Also, many of us move the films around a bit. I know my rankings are not set in stone.
@DarthDimi, just give us a basic ranking without doing in depth scoring, and we will keep in mind that you - like many of us - don't like, or find it difficult, to really rate a film in a definitive way. But I am sure you have some basic favorites and basic ones that consistently sink to the bottom of list. I'd just like to see what you like and don't like, in general. You don't need to go by the categories listed (that the Originals had to use when scoring).

I will post the rest of my list a little later today. You have a good mix in your top (00)7; well, all the Bonds except dear Roger. But then again, with so many films, the top 7 would probably leave out something on many folks' lists. Mine leaves off Lazenby (which it would anyway; I am in the minority here).
I hope some other Originals post their own rankings, too. But everyone is welcome; please do share your list, even if just top 10\bottom 5 or whatever you'd like.
Cheers!
NSNA and CR67 are always on my mind. ;-)
Man, I do love that song from CR67, one of the loveliest songs ever, sung by the perfect singer, too.
Isn't it the best? I have to say I love the entire soundtrack for CR67, it's a shame the rest of the work didn't keep the same high standard.
