Today marks the 100th Anniversary of the birth of James Bond continuation author and scholar Sir Kingsley Amis (1922-1995). I wish to say a massive thank you to the man who more or less invented serious Bond scholarship with The James Bond Dossier (1965) and who wrote what I consider to still be the best Bond continuation novel, Colonel Sun (1968).

    James Woods is 75.

I love that this is the link to commemorate his birthday. Politics aside, I've always loved Woods' career. Videodrome is one of my all time favorite films and Vampires is one campy, cool ride.

NEVER underrate Ann-Margret’s range of talent. Several months ago I saw her in the crime noir ONCE A THIEF (1965, with Alain Delon, Van Heflin and Jack Palance) and was blown away by her performance. To state the obvious, Ms. Margret was a lot more than just a female version of Elvis. WOW!!!!

Yet, despite all of her succusses, she’ll always be “Ann-Margrock” to me!!!!

Happy 81st birthday to Ms. Margret, and may she have many…many more.

Absolutely. He was not only a hulking brute of a monster, but devious too!

I really enjoyed the remake and am still upset that the rights issues and lawsuits took hold and we never got a sequel.

Agreed on Mears, he's an excellent Jason, incredibly domineering and scary. I'll never forget the final shot in the first act where he runs up to the "final girl", swinging his machete and bringing it down before the shot cuts.

And now it's over, we're still no better off, as for any film to happen, both parties would have to agree. Which isn't going to happen, otherwise it would not have dragged on for so long. It's such a mess.

Completely, sadly. Film came out 13 years ago and it doesn't feel like we're anywhere closer to getting a sequel or a reboot or any new installment. You'd think money-hungry greed would allow for some sort of compromise for the higher-ups and those involved.

Which is ironic. It's greed that has caused it, but now neither man can earn from the IP by themselves.

And while Friday The 13th: The Game had it problems, the court case also killed its longevity. We would have had at least 1 new Jason, map, and game mode.

Every year since I was in college, I wish Bruce a happy birthday on Facebook and he does the same for me a few days later. My birthday was yesterday and he reached out yet again, even in his old age. Nothing like having a Bond henchman send you birthday greetings. It's surreal.

If only I had known, I would congratulate you. You were born on the same date as the Graf Zeppelin disaster in 1937. Too late now. Spilled milk under the bridge and all that.
