He's a true giant of human thought.
In addition to the two credited stories he did for The Man From UNCLE, he also did some uncredited rewrites. One was for a second-season episode called The Virtue Affair. In addition, he designed a rather unusual bow used by Illya Kuryakin in that episode.
This expression that they use in English, "have your cake and eat it." We don't have an equivalent for it in Spanish, so I don't often think of it, but when I do, I always remember an interview with Ellison in which he says people say it wrong, and that it should be "eat your cake and have it too". Which in fact sounds much better and more logical. Clearly, you can't eat your cake and have it at the same time. But you can have your cake and then eat it, which is what it sounds like when it's the other way around, and without the 'too'.
It's like "I could care less." Certainly saying "I could not care less" makes much more sense?
I do understand the hyperbole behind saying 'literally' when something isn't at all literal, though. Even though I don't feel compelled to use the word that way.
(End of idiomatic mini-rant)

I'll keep an eye out for the Ellison episodes next time I do an Uncle rewatch!
Love that bow. The agents always had such innovative gear at their disposal in the global struggle against the forces of Thrush!

I must confess I've never seen any of his movies, but I may have seen him in an episode or two of the TV shows he did.

John with Tim Burton from The Death of Superman Lives
Forget actors and musicians and sports stars, this right here is a true hero.
RIP good sir.
Bit of a shock I knew he was unwell as he had been off screen recently, there have been loads of tributes from the Movie and Fandom online. Collider Heroes is a great comic book show I hope they continue it in tribute to him. I watched Schnepp since the AMC Movie Talk days with Campea etc, only 51 years old very sad.
