Michael Nesmith has passed. Bummer. He wrote Linda Ronstadt's first hit, "Different Drum" -- but first came to public attention as a member of the Monkees -- the guy with the wool hat. An early pioneer in music videos, Mike's career in music is not easily summarised ... I particularly recommend his "Television Parts" series from the early 1980s. Here's a few selections...

Based on what folks that saw him and Micky Dolenz in concert over the past few months, I surmised that he wasn’t in the best of health. This still comes as a shock to me.
A lot more talented than often given credit for, he will be missed.

My only opportunity to see Michael was at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in 2019. I've got a LOT of fond HSB memories over the years...and this one is near the top. Or maybe it's just one of the more recent....

Today Doggie Heaven earned a well-deserved angel. After 14 years, today we put down our dog, Buddy. He was always loyal, but towards the end of his life, he had many health problems. In particular, keeping his balance and possibly dementia. I did get teary-eyed saying goodbye. I know he’s in a better place, but he will live in my heart forever. RIP Buddy, you are loved and missed.
