There's something about Shelley Duvall face and general demeanor in her roles and outside her roles that I never quite understood. Sometimes, she looked absolutely beautiful, in an innocent, naive way, a hit otherworldly even sometimes. Some other times, she looked like an ugly duckling, but more like a broken doll or a woman who spent her childhood being bullied and had internalised it. That's how I feel watching her in The Shining: exhausted mother, exhausted and dominated wife, yet resourceful and capable when she needs to be, in spite of being utterly terrified. Wendy deserves to be counted among the Final Girls. And one of the best, because she's not only trying to save herself, but save her child.

I must say that, living in France, the only acquaintance I had of her was from viewings of old time Saturday Night Live, and the comic book mini-series Batman : The Dark Knight Returns.

RIP Jacoby Jones - another former Baltimore Raven dead at a young age. He was one of the most electric, fun players to watch in his prime and was absolutely instrumental in the team winning their most recent championship. The Flock will never forget you Jacoby!
He also worked with Sean Connery in Hyams' Outland.
I was only watching Star Trek III this past weekend, R.I.P. James Sikking

RIP To a legend.
A good life lived by him.
The Welshman was a snooker legend, and won six World titles in the 1970’s.

I did enjoy the Franco-Belgian animated series based on (later episodes are more 'inspired by') the comics. I liked them as a wee lad and I revisited the series a few years ago and still liked it. Have been meaning to read the comics ever since, but never came around to actually do it...
We shared quite a few passions and I enjoyed very much talking with her about her experiences when she was younger in a world so different than the one of today.
She reached a very respectable age, but with someone you love so dearly it's always going to hurt regardless.
