Just learned of the sad passing of John Ashton aged 76.

A veteran of over 200 film and tv appearances, he's probably best known for playing John Taggart in the Beverley Hills cops movies. Including this years Axel F.

John Ashton and Kris Kristofferson R.I.P its not been a great week quite a few famous faces have passsed away.

John Ashton was great in Beverley Hills Cop very memorable playing off Reinhold and Murphy.

Kristofferson achevements are impressive when you look at both his music and film career.

RIP John Amos. Fond memories from Lock Up, Die Hard 2 and Coming to America. I notice he was also in Hologram Man, a PM entertainment B-movie I've been meaning to rewatch since I caught it on TV twenty plus years ago.

And RIP John Ashton. It was great to see him again in Axel F. Unforgettable in Beverly Hills Cop and Midnight Run. I remember from Instinct as well.

And RIP Maggie Smith. Prisoner of Azkaban is my next movie to watch. Others on my Smith watchlist: The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, Evil Under the Sun, Death on the Nile and Travels with My Aunt.

RIP horror writer James A. Moore. He died in March this year, but I just discovered him reading This Is Halloween. At 58, he died way too young.

To be fair, I thought she had passed away long ago. Still, 93 is a good age to go. I saw only two of her movies : There's no Business like Show Business and Les Girls, and I loved them both. She also had a tenuous link with Bond : on the cover of LALD (on the vintage "photocover" edition), the marquee of one of the movie theaters seen advertise one of her less-known movie, The "I Don't Care" Girl.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is one of the funniest movies ever made and her role in that that film was a big factor in that. Outside of her many film roles, her many appearances (however brief) on TV shows like The Odd Couple, Batman and Star Trek were always notable.
