It clearly mean a lot to him, I wonder if we will get a title or teaser?

I've skipped the latest 1,000 or so posts on this, but I'm sure that the local premiere of the next Indiana Jones movie will be the first time that I'll go to a movie theatre since the local NTTD premiere. I found all of the first four altogether marvelous (yes, even no. 4) and wouldn't want to miss no. 5.

This time, when the missiles hit the island, I'll be psychologically prepared.

    Nice video.

Just watched a reaction from someone who attended D23 he mentioned
    John Rhys-Davies
also mentioned there was no title and the film looks considerably better than part 4 with emphasis on practical effects.

It occurred to me perhaps the film is just called Indiana Jones (I have not read all the hundreds off comments on this thread in case that has been mentioned previously).

No, I don't think so. We'll get a teaser more like winter I believe, with Black Panther or Avatar 2 maybe. I guess the title will probably be revealed by then (if it isn't called just Indiana Jones), but I'm sure they'd have announced it earlier if they had anything to announce - I don't think there's any massive reason to hold off revealing a title other than they haven't got one yet!
Possibly it reveals more about the plot than they want to give away at this point, but who knows.

Anyway, he rides a horse through the New York subway, that's got to be good :)

I wonder if we’ll get a novelization of Indy 5. The other 4 have one and all the Star Wars movies have one. Also for Indy 5, I assume that
    Marion is coming back,
as this is being treated as a finale.

I can’t imagine that it will be simply titled “Indiana Jones” ; “and the…” is such an ingrained part of series and part of it’s identity that I doubt it will be abandoned for Ford’s curtain call.

Could this be a sign that Short Round is back as well? I think it’s possible.

I really wouldn't be surprised of it's just called INDIANA JONES. That's the trend these days, simplistic titles.

Maybe they'll be creative and call it THE INDIANA JONES to emphasize that only Ford will play the role?

Ke Huy Quan had been experiencing a renaissance of sorts since he had a major part in Everything Everywhere All at Once, which led him to being cast in the new season of Loki. That’s why he was at D23. That he was reunited with Harrison Ford there is just one extremely happy coincidence.

The official IJ Twitter refers to it just as ‘the new Indiana Jones film’ so I don’t think we’ve been given a title yet.

I hope this film sticks to tradition with the title. One of my favorite elements of the franchise are the titles.

This. It'd be perfect timing to have him in the film, even for a brief appearance. I know he joined the next season of Loki so it's probably why he's in attendance (unless there are some set photo spoilers that have confirmed he will indeed be part of the fifth installment).
  • I like your suggestion of The Indiana Jones, @ToTheRight.

    Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    The Indiana Jones

I feel like it brings just the right amount of inanity to the table.

Yes, it's probably just a generic title while they continue to decide on the finished one but I guess they could take the Jason Bourne route and go with something like that.

Sounds like it’ll be the longest film yet. Around possibly 2.5 hours.

I think it might be cool if they release the title (if it's not just simply Indiana Jones) with the first teaser.

Oh dear. Has somebody checked on John Williams lately? He does know he just scored an Indiana Jones film, not a Harry Potter film, right?

"Sure, I'd love to score a James Bond film. I've always loved Westerns."

There is no way they're going to call the film "Indiana Jones" and nothing else. That would be like calling the next Star Wars film just "Star Wars". Those simplistic titles tend to be used in reboots or franchises with a more fragmented continuity.

I'm so sure they won't call Indy 5 "Indiana Jones", that I'm willing to bet that if they do give it that name, I will eat your shoe, Werner Herzog-style. But you pay for the shipping of the shoe.

I was slightly joking, but at the same time adding the word "THE" seems to be a trend: THE Suicide Squad, THE Batman.

Another trend is to re use a title then add the character's name as a subtitle:
    BEVERLY HILLS COP:AXEL FOLEY , TOP GUN:MAVERICK.

    How about:

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK : INDIANA JONES

One thing I don't want is for anyone to call him Henry. No bloody Henry, no bloody Jonesy: he's Indiana Jones / Indy / Dr Jones and that's it :)
