If he wasn't already Bond, could you see this face and champion his candidacy for the role?
Hmmm? Look at the promotion photos of Roger Moore when he shot the spy who loved me, then rephrase.
He wouldn't have been cast at 50...he still looked 50. A good 50...but still 50;)
I think the same might be true of public opinion but to a lesser extent. Way too many people took those wrist slashing comments seriously, thinking he came across as a proper spoiled Hollywood diva, and EON and the man himself didn't do enough to shut it down. I'm sure if Bond 25 is good though (well I thought Spectre was really good to be honest, so I guess popular/highly regarded would be the word) then things will get a lot more positive again.
Nah I don't think age is the issue. It's how plastic he looked. I'm hoping he hasn't had any work done because that never looks good and he did look really weird at the Baftas. Anyone have any backstage photos so we can see if the lighting made any difference? Tried to find some last night but couldn't.
Screams of botox to me.
Maybe he should leave B25 alone and someone else should do it.
Yeah, maybe it's for the best.
Having said that, he knows what he's signed up for. He's a professional and he knows that Bond isn't Kings or Logan Lucky.
I expect him to get in shape, do whatever work has to be done to make himself presentable, and deliver a performance to blow us away, validating his claims last year that he intends to go out on a high.
Just let him be the way he is (assuming he trims down). They've kept him on for a reason (most probably to tell the story of an older Bond) after all.
Speak not of Justice League...
Though another possibility is he could be piling on the weight to bulk up for Bond and convert fat to muscle mass.
Either way his make up was off.
As far as bulking up for Bond, well fat cannot be converted to muscle and the degree to which he bulks up for the role has been exaggerated, even in Casino Royale. Craig has a lean muscular physique, when he preps for a role he increases his physical training and cleans up his diet. His weight probably changes very little; by being leaner, as a result of the clean eating, with a bit more muscle, he is more defined and may actually look bigger at the same if not a lighter weight.
I've been convinced of this for a very long time. Unless they were filming them back to back, there's no way he'll stick around another three to four years to do 26.
Would anyone want another long gap just for a sixth Craig film, anyway? They were already pushing the "too old" angle in SF, it'd be ridiculous for him to still be in the role three films later.
