Emil?!
Emil Klinger."
With the Henry Cavill announcement was there any other film to watch honestly
While there are elements of the first film I don’t like that were rectified in the show and later films (learning to sense other immortals is so stupid and Connor winning the prize screws up any chance of a sequel obviously )
But overall the film holds up I don’t want a remake I want a new films set in the series even if Cavill is playing Connor still don’t care I don’t need to see Kurgan Rameriez etc I need to see a new film with new ideas new history to explore
I also think this is one of the few franchises I would not recommend a deep dive Highlander 1 3 and 4 and the show are all you need to see
Films I have seen in 2001
1. Casino Royale
2. Quantum of solace
3. John wick
4. Coming to America
5. Highlander
6. Monterey Pop Festival
7. My big fat Greek wedding
8. Batman: dying is easy
9. Across the universe
10. Batman hush
11. Batman ninja
12. Casino Royale 1954
Believe it or not, it was banned in Britain for many years... 🙄
It was on the so called, Video Nasties List. The pencil going into the ankle, along with the apple crunching sound effect, still makes me wince.
Yes, and to think the police were confiscating stuff you can now see on TV.
The government were terrified of what the working classes had the freedom to watch in their homes.
Some weeks ago, I tried watching Marc Forster s WORLD WAR Z, but had to turn it off. Abysmally boring. This however was a lot better. Sure, it isn t Snyder s best, and there are some annoying cliches here and there, but all in all its two and a half hours of very well made entertainment.
Noticed it had dropped on Netflix, hopefully I will watch it tonight.
I like films with ragtag teams fighting against the odd's, they are usually a fun watch.
Yes, well, one of the annoying cliches here is the various personality types in the team. Feels a bit by the book, if you know what I mean. Small quibble. There is some amazing imagery here to enjoy.
I am a big fan of Snyder, one thing is guaranteed with him art on the screen.
Count me in.
I was pretty skeptic at first, too. I felt the best stuff was in the second half.
Well done getting so much out of a guy lying in a box for an hour and a half. This must be Ryan Reynold s best role?
Realistic and topical social drama thriller.
This 88 year old horror-mystery-chiller looks almost new in the superb UCLA restoration made available on Blu-Ray through the Warner Archive. Filmed in two-color Technicolor (red and green, no blue or yellow), Wax Museum has always looked otherworldly--and often lovely, despite its macabre content. Modern horror junkies might be disappointed at the lack of gore, but there's plenty of creepy imagery. Lively direction by Michael Curtiz and even livelier lead performance by Glenda Farrell as the wisecracking lady reporter.
Don't bother!
Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn in a comedy action adventure. Haven't seen it in years.
Easy going film, plenty of action and comedy.
They have great chemistry, Gibson and Hawn. Might revisit it myself 👍
You mean Cosmic Sin, @RogueAgent ? Because yeah, don't bother. It's junk.
Army of the dead
I like all Snyder's movies so far. But this one is fairly mediocre. Neither scary nor exciting, the film feels very "Netflix". It's not bad but nothing special. I don't like the whole
Excellent documentary on 80's and 90's Action Movies, many contributions from actors and film makers from that era. The documentary is available to watch on Prime Video.
This was fun.
Godzilla vs Kong Superb action and visual effects though that's about it, I had the most empathy for Kong and Godzilla, the plot is none existent and the humans have even less to do than usual. The final battle was awesome.
The other 3 films in the series are certainly better written.
Once again, we completely agree, @Fire_and_Ice_Returns . About everything, it seems. Well, perhaps not the ranking. Here's mine:
That's the ranking I would probably go with, Godzilla is a visually stunning film by Garath Edwards though loses points as Godzilla is not in the film enough. King of Monsters is fantastic Godzilla's enemy's and allies appearing elevate it further. Skull Island I rewatched recently, the ensemble cast is decent, John C. Reilly is a lot of fun.
In Godzilla v Kong I wish they had explored the idea and the actually place
I expect that'll be explored further in later Kong films.
My ranking would be
1. Godzilla
2. King of the Monsters
3. Godzilla vs Kong
4. Skull Island
I enjoyed all of them, so this isn't an indicator that any are terrible.
