Shirley Walker is one of the best Batman/Superhero music composers ever. She is truly missed. Her Mask of the Phantasm score should have been Oscar-nominated. It’s also one of the best soundtracks ever. She’s just one of the people who made the DCAU great.
As for Batman Day, I hope we can get an announcement for the Batman Forever Schumacher Cut and Suicide Squad Ayer Cut in some forms of media. The cast and crew deserve what should be better and more explained in-depth movies.
Shirley Walker and Christopher Drake are my two favourite Batman composers. I wish Shirley had been hired for live-action Batman films too.
She did help on Batman 89 in some musical way. She really got the music of Batman. Then again Batman has never had a bad soundtrack, at least from what I’ve heard and seen.
Going back to Batman Day, for Joker 2, I would like to hear who the other announced actors are playing.
Also, 31 years ago today, this classic episode cemented Batman TAS as more than a kid’s cartoon.
This turned Mr. Freeze from laughing stock to tragic villain. We should be forever grateful. One of the best Batman stories across any media.
That reminds me i need to buy this in 4K.
Edited: UK release date 25th September.
I agree, it’s time to bring the Bat-family back to the cinematic Batman. It needs to be done just as much as Superman’s comic book villains getting some cinematic screen time.
He is truly missed, as an actor and human being.
It still saddens me that we won't see this for a number of reasons.
I wouldn't be so sure:
Must be one of those buddy comedies ala The Hangover where they drink too much and the next day they wake up and find out about all the s*it they caused. ;)
Actually to quote bond
“I am afraid you caught me with more then my hands up
These are very nice, sir, very nice indeed.
I'm certainly glad the role went to Bale. He is my favorite Batman (a shared number-one spot with Keaton). Bale managed to play three roles (Batman, Bruce Wayne: public persona, Bruce Wayne: the man behind the mask) with an energy that I have rarely seen.
I don't get that same vibe from Gyllenhaal, I'm afraid.
DiCaprio as the Riddler is an interesting idea too, that would probably have been very good too. But I guess the Joker and Riddler are a bit too similar to have one follow the other in subsequent films, really. I'm not sure you could say there's a lot of contrast between DiCaprio and Ledger as actors at that time.
I think Gyllenhaal would have made a good Batman, with that material. I don't think his sister would have been in TDK, though! Remember, he was also almost Spider-Man, after Tobey Maguire's back problems and bad ego. I think he could have pulled both roles off.
I think that DiCaprio would have made a great Riddler, with Nolan in charge. I'm happy with what we got though. I wouldn't be surprised if the Joker and the Riddler make cameos in The Batman Part 2. Would be interesting either way.
Yeah definitely, he'd have been a very charming Peter too when he was younger. He's got great range.
Definitely one of the best of his generation. I can simply imagine him in any role.
Wait... Oh, no... It's coming!
Quick! Run for your lives while you can!

I look forward to both Batman movies.
Rare comic book movies that I'm excited for. I'm happy that these are not in a shared universe with other super powered characters.
