Yeah, the ending with the whole Redditor Incel shooting seemed to come out of nowhere. To be honest, I didn't pick up on first viewing that Gotham in this universe was meant to be an island with a water dam. Even if it'd been foreshadowed it might have worked better (I dunno, have a big part of the Mayoral campaign be that the water dams are in need of fixing as they're unstable or something?)

These CW superhero shows (at least the trailers) are legitimately some of the worst things I've ever seen.

I hate that they are obviously catering to youngsters. When are TV and movie producers going to get it in their thick skulls that you make stuff for adults; kids will watch anyway. You make something for the wee ones, you'll lose the adults right away, and the kids when they get older.

Its ridiculous how many Batman related TV shows there are and none of them center on Batman. Batman is either AWOL, a young Bruce or in this terrible looking new show's case Dead.

I don’t want to watch it but I know it will make me both angry and laugh

    I got half way through

I am very familiar with Batman lore who the BLEEP is Turner?

You know I stopped watching the Cw superhero shows after the premier of arrow season 3 killed off my celeb crush Caity Lotz

And you know what I still see no reason to come back

I I am not going to finish the trailer I wasted enough time on it to know I don’t care

Turner does not exist at all in DC comics as far as I am aware.

I thought Turner was supposed to be the alternate universe mirror image of the character named Straighter...(looking about, whistling)...

I know he doesn’t that is my issue

Like why can’t they do Damian Wayne or Dick Grayson or hell I would take a Jason Todd solo show

Nope let’s insert random people no one cares about because uhm

    I need a drink…
Bat woman was bad but at least it had characters from the comics … horribly screwed up versions of the people in the comics but still

I've absolutely no reason to post this other than I haven't seen it before and I think it's one of the best photos I've seen :)

That, and the TAS boxset, are some of my most precious Batman thingies.

It's worth it. I have the DVDs too; the Bluray box was an improvement, mainly because of the extras.

Initially I waited for a price drop though I did get into the habit of buying Batman content digitially which was a mistake, I rather have physicall copies.

When Batman animated films drop early on Amazon Prime I am too impatient to wait for the Bluray, this time round though I have not bought The Batman and plan to buy a collectors edition 4K set of the film.

I can't be critical of them trying something new in concept for DC films, though Joker 2 as musical no thanks I am not a fan of the genre.
  • edited June 2022 Posts: 4,166
I can sort of see why, if this is true, they're going that way. A lot of Joker was about Arthur's delusions/fantasies anyway (I'm sure this will pan out more along the lines of Dancer in The Dark than The Sound of Music), and the film certainly paid homage to other movies... I mean, I'm not sure if we need a Joker 2 at all - or indeed arguably a Joker film in general, particularly the one we got - but I can at least see the logic.

Come on, this is fantastic! It's perfectly in keeping with the Joker's persona that the world is reduced to a bunch of singalongs. Even then, I'm quite confident that, if the news is true, this musical will not be another West Side Story or Sound Of Music. Something twisted our way comes, I'm sure. And another bleak and depressing satire like the first film may put off too many fans. So yeah, let's crawl inside the Clown's mind and see the world through his eyes after the last few twigs of sanity have snapped. I dig it, folks. Kudos to Philips for trying something new--again.

Music as a back drop is often great though not keen on Joker and Harley singing there way through a film, maybe if Andrew LLoyd Webber wrote it it might be ok. Joking aside I wonder if they will just sing well known songs throughout the film that tonally fit the scenes or a completely new musical is written. I am allergic to musicals.
