I feel the older movies, being pumped out once every two years, are more rewatchable on a regular basis. The newer movies, being released once every four years or so, might be better, but they're the sort of thing I don't want to watch too often.

I wonder if it's also just that the more serious ones I prefer to watch less and the ones that are made just for fun and entertainment I'm tempted to watch more regularly.

I am there with you. For me the older films have much more rewatchability. CR also dropped enourmously in my ranking and I still can't figure out why I can't enjoy it as much as I used to 12 years ago.

I wonder if it's the current aiming for prestige the new films tend to focus on that, although well done, makes them less re-watchable?
I enjoyed GE the last time I viewed it, yet have no immediate desire to pop it in again for quite some time. Yet, I could watch OP any day practically.

Poor fella, he’ll have nowhere to go with his CR67 love :( ;)

This place is the closest one can get to find at least a little bit of appreciation for the zaniness that is CR67.

After watching AVTAK again, I have shuffled the last third of my ranking a bit.

Interesting really, A View To A Kill is so easy to watch, even with the middle part in San Francisco being a tad on the boring side.

It's clearly the 80s film I'll watch the most, at least it feels that way at the moment. TLD is one I definitely have to study a bit more.

As for Never Say Never Again, watched that again as well and it's even growing on me more. It is Connery after all, and the film overall is just too good regarding the whole cast and the humor especially. Dialogue and funky weird characters ha ha...

    before the latest viewing:
    19 The Living Daylights
    20 For Your Eyes Only
    21 Never Say Never Again
    22 Octopussy
    23 A View To A Kill
    24 Licence To Kill
    25 Spectre

    after tonight:
    19 The Living Daylights
    20 A VIEW TO A KILL
    21 Never Say Never Again
    22 For Your Eyes Only
    23 Octopussy
    24 Licence To Kill
    25 Spectre

GE is barely a top 10 film. Good tone and Brosnan performance. But the script is fairly pedestrian.

    Duty makes no sweethearts. ;)

TLD might not be the best film ever, but it’s definitely my favourite.

I wonder if there are people here who have the opposite top and bottom in their rankings? For instance, I place OHMSS at the top and DAD at the bottom. I don t think I have ever seen anyone with DAD as no 1 and OHMSS at the bottom.

Has anyone else seen people who are their "opposites" ?

I say mine counts - CR for #1 and DAD at the bottom. They are back to back and completely opposite films.
