And after that I compared the rankings, and my only conclusion is: A lot of similarities!:
Like @AntiLocqueBrakes already mentioned, it gets slightly 'wishy-washy' from 13th towards 20th place. There you see a bit more discrepancies. That can be easily explained, because one top vote can do a 'lot of damage'. To filter that out, one needs a lot more voters. Like in real statistics, a pool of 750 to 1000 voters. But that's off course impossible here :-).
I think the rankings from 1st to 13th place and then from 21st to 25th place are way more accurate. And there you see.....quite a lot of similarities. As a matter of fact, 9 films had the exact ranking in both polls. And besides that in the TOP 13....sometimes only one spot difference, like "Skyfall" and "GoldenEye".
Interesting though.....there's slightly more love for the Brosnan films outside this community. "Quantum Of Solace" is unanimously 'hated' on IMDB :-P.
I'm happy to see that, apart from OP (which I rated higher than the average voter), and GF (which I rated much lower than the average voter) all my top 10 are in the eventual list.
Not surprising, because the top 10 is credible as far as I'm concerned. I still think GF is overrated due to its understandable nostalgic impact at the time of release, but that's just me it seems.
Actually, I completely agree with you. I think GF has this 'cult status'....that will only slightly wear off in several decades from now :-P.
Funny you people say this because GF has been my No 7 Bond movie for practically decades (No 6 even before CR).
Finally I got over the nostalgia and respect for its legacy and ranked it properly which means it is now my No 13 Bond movie.
Oooops, I didn't give GF any point at all :-O!

Not a bad list. I'm surprised a Daltonite would rank DN so low though?
Funny that you should mention that, I was thinking about it yesterday. I guess it's because the series was in its very beginnings, I didn't enjoy as much as I did next few. I think when you look at FRWL, GF and TB you see three films that we're confidently made, acted by a lead who was completely comfortable and almost "living" that role. DN itself, while enjoyable, to me was just that little bit "tepid"? No one knew exactly what they were doing and, to me, it shows. As I said, I still enjoy the film. I just think that it lacks a little something that the later films have.
Exactly. That's all that's missing for me.

good Lord, I think I like this list even better than mine
:))
Dalton is my favourite and of course I have both of him in my Top 10 (2 and 8).
I wish I could put him on 1 and 2 ;)
I admire your love for TND, it was for a long time my No 4 after GE TLD and OHMSS, somehow it slipped down to 9, but it is very crowed in the Top 10.
;)
Interestingly, the tier lists separated by colour match @Gustav_Grave 's MI6 findings (except TND), even though he only did top 10. His community rank is similar with a few movies out of place.
- The Bond forum ranks only include post-Skyfall lists.
- 23 points for 1st rank and 1 point for 23rd. These are all added up per film
- Website ranks may be missing CR, QoS, SF. 3 lists did not include CR, 6 for QoS and 33 for SF. The number before the slash is the score before extrapolation.
- The extrapolation was calculated by (23-[average rank]+1)x[number of lists film is missing from]
- There may be a few overlaps in the Bond forum lists due to some members putting their ranks on multiple sites
- Some member's like to update their lists every 2nd week, so I use everyone's latest list
Observations:
- GF tops the general population list and still ranks highly on Bond Forums, as does GE. Both films seem to be touted as overrated on forums.
- LTK and FYEO always together with LTK on top.
- DAD universally hated
- Despite small groups liking QoS and hating SF, both films are still lower and higher ranked respectively
- TLD, OHMSS and OP fall a few places on the general list
- I'll publish this later, but LTK has a very high percentage of 1st place on both CBn and AJB (about 10% compared with MI6's 3%)
It would be interesting to track rises and falls in average rank over time (eg DAD's from 2002 to 2006) but the sample sizes are too small
The Living Daylights remains my favourite film, and unexpectedly, OP jumped from 6th to 2nd. Both are full of tension and move at a quick pace with plenty of action and drama.
You Only Live Twice and Tomorrow Never Dies are the other big winners, the former from long term last place to 14th and TND up 6 places to 9th.
The Gilbert films have grown on me hence their higher places, whereas the Hamilton films continue to bore me for the most part even though they have some classic moments and characters - DAF ranks highest at 12th.
The losers are GE which I used to love and has now fallen to 6th, AVTAK has slipped over the years although I still enjoy it, TB which I thought I liked but the movie just drags, and this brings me to the most controversial placing of Skyfall at 20th. While it's technically very well made and acted, it bores me for the most part, my favourite aspect is the dialogue. I placed DAD above SF, shoot me
The untouchables. Spectre will have a hard time cracking the top 5. GE is on shaky ground
1. The Living Daylights (+3)
2. Octopussy (+4)
3. Casino Royale (-2)
4. From Russia With Love (-2)
5. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (-2)

Flawed but enjoyable
14. You Only Live Twice (+9)
15. A View To A Kill

Mostly pacing issues (TB) or just downright bad (DAD)
17. The Man with the Golden Gun (+2)
18. Die Another Day (+2)
19. Thunderball (-11)
20. Skyfall (-13)
Didn't do much for me (unfortunate because LALD has many good scenes)
