I can't wait to get home tomorrow and play it. It feels like I am five years old again and it is Christmas Eve. :)
1) It's not on Wii U. Why?
2) No fast travel. It's an amazing looking open world but I've found myself spending a lot of my time with this game driving along the same motorways between LA and the countryside. If I spawn in LA and want to get to the top of a mountain because I heard there was a parachute at the top, I don't want to drive there, get killed by police because I bumped into their car, drive there again from the hospital only to pull the parachute cord too late anyway.
3) You still lose money when you die, it always annoyed me in past games and it annoys me now. I want to go on mad rampages but I feel like I'm constantly losing money. Yes it'd be fun to crash into the military base but I'll probably die and lose lots of money, and I want to be able to buy one of the decent businesses so I can actually earn some cash.
Red Dead actually solved those last two problems I have, so it seems weird that they're there again.
Trevor may just about be one of my favourite characters ever!
Enjoy! Looking forward to your thoughts.
I really want to 100% this game and get as many achievements as possible, and I'm about 70% complete on the game right now. Just trying to do all the collectibles and side missions because I've no clue what happens at the end.
Michael's pretty cool too, I like how he's a big film buff. Franklin seems a bit generic to me but I like the idea of his character (gang member who wants to be a bigger criminal).
Didn't know you could ring for one, thanks.
I'd say he's a bit too young, but it depends on how mature he is. There is strong, strong language, nudity, blood, the whole nine yards.
I thought you were talking about an event in the actual game, until I saw someone with the username of Franklin sent me a message. Thankfully, your comment clicked and I only gave it a glance, and don't have anything spoiled. These kinds of people repel me to my core.
Plus drug abuse, graphic torture. It is however all tongue in cheek and fairly cartoonish violence. If he's fairly mature for his age, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
My advice would be to watch a few videos on YouTube and if make your own decision.
He seems to have let me off, I didn't get a message from him.
I just glanced at the post so it isn't completely spoiled but
He completed the whole story in under a week, probably playing it non stop, then searched for a discussion on it and joined a forum he has no interest in just to spoil the game for everyone.
What a sad, pathetic dickhead.
EDIT: remember quoting spoilers makes them visible so if he hasn't ruined it for you then don't quote my post, and don't click on the activity page.
@Thunderfinger This one (from what I've played) isn't really any worse than the others in terms of violence so if he's played the series before it should be fine.
1) Where can I find a DB5 (preferably one I can steal as I don't have much in game cash)
2) When do I unlock the parachute and scuba gear
3) Is anyone else having problems with the camera? Every time I try to save a picture it never works. I was trying to do save one just, it kept telling me to try again later but it was a really good one*
*crash landed a plane into the motorway and took a selfy with Trevor standing happily in front of the wreckage.
I'm currently 26 hours playing time and I've completed 29 of the 69 story missions.
1. I haven't found the DB5 yet either.
2. A parachute can be found atop of Mount Chilad on the cable car platform. At some point, you will be able to buy one from Ammu-Nation.
3. I also can't save photos. I think The Social Club is still having problems, which is really annoying as Rockstar should have sorted out these types of bugs before the game went live. God help when 1st Oct comes because I can see the servers crashing with the amount of people wanting to play online.
As for the DB5, you can purchase it online from one of the exotic auto sites, but it's 'unavailable.' I'm guessing you have to progress much further in the game to unlock the ability to buy it. I have around 20 missions left and it's still locked.
When I went to one of the clothes shops as Trevor (the posh one in LA, near Micheals house), there was a tux. I thought that'd be suited to Michael so when I switched later on I went back there, but the tux wasn't there anymore.
Can you actually buy a tuxedo for Michael? Or are some clothes character specific?
@WillyGalore, I want to say I'm pushing close to thirty hours, but I'm literally doing EVERYTHING before completing the game. Did the Under the Bridge and Knife Flights, got gold on the hobbies and pasttimes, going for 100% completion, did the Kifflom! questline, and now I'm doing the stunt jumps. Then I'll move on to collectibles and getting gold in 70 missions and whatnot.
What is Kifflom?
Is the map bigger than the one on GTA: San Andreas? Been so long since I played it. I'm aware that there were three cities plus the surrounding areas in that game.
'Kifflom!' is a saying from the Epsilon group, which is Rockstar's take on Scientology. Enter 'epsilonprogram.com' into the internet in the game, take the personality test, and your quest will begin shortly in the form of a unique symbol on the map.
Be warned: the quests are ridiculous, tedious, odd, and long.
I was blown away by the innovation of it, and all the things you can do in that massive breathing open world. The missions I have played so far have been great, I love all the characters, and I love all the mechanics from the driving to the gunplay which hasn't been this good for as long as I can remember. I was skeptical in part about the character switching mechanic, but it actually works phenomenally, and I love how the characters each lead their own lives while you aren't playing them, giving them an even greater sense of life than ever before. Your characters even sweat for crying out loud! The details are what make it all so grand. I love all the random crime that you can get caught up in and help stop in some cases, and that you can randomly walk into your house and get into an argument with your wife who is passed out drunk on the couch or mediate an argument between your kids upstairs. Phenomenal! The movements and everything I take Rockstar to task on usually are much improved, so that is brilliant to see. The vast amount of clothing there is to buy is amazing, all the activities startling and I literally thought it was the coolest thing ever to go diving deep underneath the water. I have wanted to do that in a video game forever, and the little stuff like that is just part of what makes a game like this a great one. You know a game is good when you get distracted from the story to become caught up in all the amazing off-mission activities it has to offer. It is embarrassing how many times I have gone swimming, and I can't wait to get that diving gear to explore even further. I can't wait to get back into playing this, sleep and food be damned.
EDIT: Sorry for the double post, the site was acting up on me. Is there any way to get rid of the duplicate post below, mods?
