Wishmaster was a lot of fun!

Looking forward to the sequel too, which appears to be a funnier film. Don't know about the other two films, but maybe.

I love the first one. It's one of my favourite 90's horror film. #2 is nothing special. #3 is bad. #4 is beyond abysmal... my pick for the worst horror sequel ever. If you must see #2, ok, but don't go any further. Watch something else instead.

I'll take your advice and go for #2 alone. The prison scenes seem like a lot of fun, with Divoff grinning and staring at people like a nutcase. I'll try and check out a couple of scenes of the other two films just to see how bad they can get. Turns out Jason Connery is in #3!

#2 at least has Divoff, and at one point, so it has that going for it. Maybe the sequels aren't that bad... I just like the first film and the sequels don't measure up.

That moment you realise not only can he still do the Djinn voice, but also he doesn't need any audio trickery. Legacy sequel to the original film, when....? [-O<

Watched #2. Definitely not as good as the original: it lacks the steady pace, increasing intensity and properly sustained horror feel of the first one (there is a big stretch of the film without any true horror or even gore, which is broken up only with the casino massacre). The new characters are fine (I rather like the lead actress' performance) but not as interesting as in the original. For a more serious tone, Divoff should've played the Djinn in a more natural style, too.

And despite all that...... it's a lot of fun, certain slow and uneventful parts aside. It's a bit like going from Nightmare on Elm Street #1 to #6 in terms of tone, but Divoff, aiming for a more comedic take, makes it worth it. His silly grins, weird faces... I love it. Plus there's Tiny Lister Jr. ("BAM BAM!"), the lawyer who does you-know-what (with the guard staring at him nonchalantly!), the russian mobsters... good times.

Legacy sequel? Bring it along I say.

You just perfectly summed up my problem with #2. There's a little campiness in the first film, but it's countered with the violence.

Are you going to continue, or leave it at just the first two? I know that I recommended you only watch the first two, but now i'm curious to know your thoughts on #3 and...... #4.

    Is that your wish? >:)

I'm not that mean spirited. ;)

I have no plans to watch them at the moment. If I'm the mood for extreme badness (sometimes I am), I might take a look at them.

Wise. Though to be honest, I wouldn't even bother at all. #4 isn't even so bad it's good, it's just bad.
