I agree with you on some of those counts, so when it comes time for you to be burned at the stake following a majority vote, I'll be there to cut you down from the post.

lol Thanks! I knew I could count on you!

Time to piss some people off...
Batman Begins is the best of The Dark Knight Trilogy and The Dark Knight is highly overrated.
The Godfather is terrible and boring.
Alien, while a good movie, is the least rewatchable of the Alien movies.
Pierce Brosnan is one of the best Bonds and while we're at it Die Another Day isn't that bad but it is Brosnan's worst.
The Beatles were never that great.

Apart from the Beatles comment, there's not too much controversy. Although, I prefer Godfather, good, but not spectacular, to Godfather 2; simply tedious.

Anything is controversial if you find the right angle and the right audience.

Lemme have a go at REAL controversy:

Christian Bale is a terrible Bruce Wayne.
The Vipers on the old Galactica show are way cooler looking than the X-Wings of Star Wars.
Gone With The Wind is a stupid soap opera.
YOLT is twice as entertaining as SF.
George Lucas' additions to Return Of The Jedi made the movie better.
At least one quarter of licensed drivers should not have a license (nor access to firearms or be allowed to have children).

Relating to the death of Francis Matthews the other day:

Captain Scarlet and The Mysterons was always better than Thunderbirds. Better animation, better paced and more exciting.

(It was certainly my favourite as a kid anyway)

    Alright how about this...
Michael Keaton was the worst Batman while George Clooney was the best... :>

In all seriousness, I think Bale was a much better Batman than Keaton. While I'm a fan of Keaton he just doesn't scream Batman to me. Although out of all the actors to play Batman/Bruce he's the second best. I think Affleck looks the part, now lets see if he can own the part.

Disagree. While I enjoy all Anderson's stuff, Thunderbirds is a charming, idiosyncratic, masterpiece.

I enjoy Thunderbirds very much, there's certainly a cute charm to it. But Scarlet feels a bit more sophisticated to me. Thunderbirds is good but doesn't really hold up as well.

For me its Scarlet first and Thunderbirds second.

Well, I think that was the intention. But I think in the transition to something more sophisticated and, for want a better word 'realistic', they lost the spark of originality that made TB work. I still love Scarlett and think it has some genuinely brilliant episodes.

Yes, I remember Anderson saying that with Scarlet he wanted more realistic looking puppets.

I can see why people may prefer Thunderbirds, but I always found Captain Scarlet more compelling - even as a 7 year old.

I suppose the episodes of Scarlet were shorter so the action moved quicker than Thunderbirds.

Actually reading this author describe the opening titles reminds me of Casino Royale's dark, moody opening of Craig shooting Dryden

Now that I'm being forced to watch Frozen for a second time I can safely say that it is the worst Disney film ever.

I agree. TDK is actually my least favorite of the Nolan trilogy.

The new song and dance routine in Jabba's Palace is one of the worst things I have ever seen in any film ever. Not that the original puppets were great but to replace it with that?
Also, Darth Vader now yells "Nooooooo" when he throws the Emperor down the shaft. Unacceptable.

    Oh yeah? How about THIS-

The the majority of the Bond movies are simple mass entertainment.
IMHO, the 'best' Bond movies are DN, FRWL, TB, TLD, and LTK.
All the rest are merely in the 'fun' category.
Connery's later movies turned into 60's Batman Bond. Lazenby was the deer-in-the-headlights Bond, Moore was the Saint Bond,
Brosnan was the 'Remington Steele' Bond, and Dan's movies, as serious as they are, are 21st Century CGI-filled Bourne-derivative Bond.

    HA!

Connery's later movies turned into 60's Batman Bond. THE 007 WHO ALREADY BORROWED SO MUCH FROM LESLIE CHARTERIS' SAINT NOVELS, THE DRESS SENSE, THE WICKEDNESS, SUAVENESS AND WORLDTRAVELLER
Lazenby was the deer-in-the-headlights Bond, THE NINCOMPOOP THAT WALKED AWAY AFTER ONE SHEER PERFECT 007 MOVIE
Moore was the Saint Bond, THE TV IVANHOE/SAINT/SINCLAIR KIND OF BOND
Brosnan was the 'Remington Steele' Bond, I LOVE REMINGTON STEELE, A CLEAR THROWBACK TO THE 30-40'S ROGUE LIKE MOVIES
and Dan's movies, as serious as they are, are 21st Century CGI-filled Bourne-derivative Bond. TOO BAD DAN NEVER COULD MATCH THE QUALITY THAT BOURNE SHOWED 3 MOVIES IN A ROW. TOO DIVERSE AND OFTEN LACKING IN A COHESIVE STORY.

    HA!

MY COMPLIMENTS BY THE WAY, NICE AND CHALLENGING. -)

    No that would be DAF.

But we have a thread for controversial opinions about Bond films.

DAD is the 'fan fiction' script in the series. No contest.

    -Bond imprisoned
    -Bond sword fighting
    -Bond fighting a Drax-esque millionaire
    -Invisible car
    -Jinx
    -Bond in Iceland
    -Bond surfing

All these ideas thrown together in one big mess.

Once we successfully 'clone' meat parts to consume so we do not have to raise animals in inhumane conditions and slaughter them, we will have taken our first real step towards world peace by removing the most pervasive 'acceptable' extreme violence that serves as a subliminal psychological springboard for every other form of killing we as individuals & governments participate in.

    Have I finally been controversial?

    - A big action sequence with Bond going from one kind of vehicle to another (car, motorbike, train, digger !)
    - Moneypenny on the field !
    - M on the field !
    - Bond family !
    - Someone who knew Bond as a child (that's a way to have a "father" on screen despite Fleming killing him) !
    - A former agent as the main villain !
    - And the super big twist : the villain was captured because he wanted to !

Hm, it could be fan fiction :)
