Yes, although he does enjoy his plain moloko in the morning. Burgess made Alex a milk drinker to show he was still innocent, young... and thus primitive.

ENTWISTLE, man!
Entwistle was good, but it was all about Keith Moon, especially in the early years. He carried "The Kids Are Alright," "My Generation," "I Can't Explain," and "Substitute". Being hilarious in all their music videos didn't hurt either.
Also, I think the Grand Theft Auto series is massively overrated. I appreciate how they kicked off the whole open world trend but I think other games have done it better since.
Like them or not, The Beatles are one of the most creative, talented, iconic and inspirational bands to ever have existed. They've inspired everyone from Noel Gallagher to Alice Cooper. Music wouldn't be the same without them and neither them (nor Queen), can be considered pathetic because that's just plain untrue.

Taste in anything is often a matter of context and the time in which one grew up. Sure, I'm a big Beatles fan, but times and styles change. I accept the fact that others may not like The Beatles, but that's not controversy.

They are both equally excellent - The Who's rhythm section is the best in rock, IHO
You NEED to read ACO. It was the book of my teenage, the one that made me discover literature and my favourite writer. And it was not even his best.
Hmm, not counting heavy metal (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, early Metallica), you might just be right. The Stones and the Beatles both had underrated rhythm sections, but it's very tough to beat the combination of Entwistle and Moon.
@CrabKey, it's tough to say just what qualifies as controversial. There are some opinions which certainly are (The Beatles are bad, or Plato was a worthless philosopher), and some which certainly aren't. Then there are the ones where there's a 50-50 split, so both sides have equal claim on controversy. But I think you have the definition of controversial embedded in your own question, namely that it's an opinion that is likely to cause debate and strife, especially when it is a minority position.
I got a hardback copy of ACO free with my Independent as part of their Banned Books series in 2007, but I really must read it. I once wrote a piece called "Anthony Burgess on TSWLM: Double Standards" which was a CBn Main Page feature, but sadly I think it may be lost to history, although it was only a short prelimary piece and I intend to follow it up some time, as Burgess had some very interesting connections with the world of James Bond that may well be worth following up at greater length at some point.
No, though that's a common misconception - it was in fact Richard Maibaum that came up with that particular one. I have a blog article coming up on that one, too.
Yes, it was deemed to political by Cubby Broccoli so they scrapped the idea (it would probably have denied them a lot of viewers too, and that meant less money). I have a piece on the blog that looks at Maibaum's original 1976 TSWLM script more in-depth than has been the case hitherto. Sort of an exclusive to The Bondologist Blog, if you will, on its content and influences.

10. Yes has not gone down hill since the 70's but has continually produced amazing album after amazing album

2) Ian Ogilvy was the better Saint performer on the tv.
3) SILENT WITNESS is better than all CSI shows, combined including Bones.
4) The Who is better than the Stones or the Beatles.
5) There was never a better SKA band than MADNESS
6) Duncan MacCleod was a better Highlander than his kinsman Connor.
7) The original SW trilogy was superiour to anything that cam later.
8) The original crew of the starship Enterprise, has never been bettered by who came after them.
9) British tv shows lose their charm when remade into poor and dreary US tv shows.
10) The general public has forgotten too much knowledge on the subject of WOI, its origins and consequenses.
11) I wish that EON did have somebody like Murray Gold who singlehandely modernised the musical sound of Doctor Who and improved on it and gave it his own stamp.
12) Hair, Le Miserables & Jesus Christ Superstar are brilliant musicals
13) Arthur C Clarkes book 2001 is better than the movie.
14) The Shadow deserves his own franchise based in the 30's or 40's, I would state that the Saint deserves a similar tv show in the same era.
