Bond was sorry he and Oddjob had such a bad start, he brought a little snack next time.

Sean Connery's tiresome harassment of Honor Blackman on set
really just focused on the same chronic joke.
  • Everybody on set was lining up and pretending to be cats so they could get one of Sean's famous back-of-the-ear massages.

During the filming of You Only Live Twice, Sean Connery, emotionally-exhausted from enduring years of media scrutiny and paparazzi harassment, suffered a nervous breakdown and spent several days communicating to cast and crew through his cat, Marbles. Thankfully, Connery returned to his senses when Cubby Broccoli offered him an increase in pay.

"Hey, Cubby! I would really like to be a co-producer, and it would be a real shame if something happened to your cat."

The moment the relationship turned sour.

Sean Connery's hearing loss due to explosions and gunfire in FRWL
in part explained his sometimes bizarre responses to direction in GF.

Broccoli called it on day one of filming: no more cats on location.

Once Cat realised they weren't caterpillars all interest was lost.

On location hijinx included Connery brutally beating a member of the crew for mocking him.
Turns out what he heard was just a cat that had wandered on set. So no harm done.

Terence was fed up with all the cats disturbing the scenes.
But that s what you get for casting a pussy magnet.

Despite Bond's best intentions to gain favor with Oddjob,
he couldn't know Cat was only on his 4th life, triggering events
that just made the divide between them even greater.

Sean Connery's service cat got him through his darkest days in the Bond role.

Young Connery was delighted to receive a kitten as his bonus for filming DN.
That view quickly soured with FRWL, GF, TB, YOLT. And largely explains NSNA.

With all due respect accrued in the last 16 years or so, you must surely end up as the "winner" of your own contest, simply due to the number of entries. Enjoyed them anyway.

    [Oh thanks but no thanks.]

The planned Connery LALD film made a minor character of Sheriff JW Pepper's housecat.

    And the winner is:
Bond was sorry he and Oddjob had such a bad start, he brought a little snack next time.

Straight out of the gate it's hard to beat an Oddjob poke on this one.

Looking forward to more Nordic insight from @Thunderfinger.

Judi Dench generally had a good experience filming Cats,
but found herself crowded to rear stage during the dance numbers.

The same demographic that became incensed by Bond's threats to Q's cats in SP
were delighted by Bond's death in NTTD.

James Bond is a part of our culture everywhere.
In a we-didn't-see-this-coming musical tribute to Sir Tom Jones at the 2022 Oscars, former Bond girls reunited to dance and lip sync to his song, "What's New Pussycat?".
Sir Tom followed this up by saying, "Pussy Galore indeed .. well, here's one you all might remember" and belted out "Thunderball" to rousing applause. He ended this, with his characteristic shyness, by mentioning that yes, his private nickname in the 60s was 'Thunderballs'. Surely, Fleming would have approved.

Producer Kevin McClory failed to get financial backing for his all-Cat musical version of TB.
Later, key elements of his project appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway musical CATS.
Mr. McClory felt his pursuit of justice in the courts never found suitable compensation.
