    Sam Mendes' latest looks mesmerizing:

Also, the return of Walter Hill plus this cast has me very excited for this:

This I want to watch. But I'll watch 1966's The Professionals first.

Oh wow! I thought Walter Hill had retired!?
One of my favourite directors! Is this a remake of 'The Professionals'? I hope not, as thst is an excellent Western and cant really be improved upon! Still, I will watch anything of his! I remember Hill was approached a long time ago to helm a remake of John Woo's 'The Killer' and refused, as he thought it couldn't be bettered!

Which is funny cause it's now being remade...by John Woo.

It's not a remake, but Gerard was telling me the other day that the plot apppears to be very similar to that of The Professionals.

Finally, Foley gets the starring role he deserves, after Beverly Hills Cop: Victor Maitland, Beverly Hills Cop: Andrew Bogomil and Beverly Hills Cop: The Ride.

But that title? That's not saxxy, it's animahl.

But yeah, looks like this movie is finally happening.

Don't forget the working title of III: Beverly Hills Cop: The One Where George Lucas Has A Cameo.

With a title like that and it going to Netflix, I'll keep my hopes and optimism in tight check.

Looks like I'm the only one who looks forward to it. I've always hoped they will make a 4th movie even though it was unlikely to happen for a long time.
It certainly won't be as good as the first two movies, but at least Jerry Bruckheimer now returned to the franchise.

I have long thought that with a few tweaks here and there, Metro could have been the 4th Beverley Hills Cop film. After the more lighter 3rd film, Beverly Hills Cop: Metro, would have put the series back on course.

Title didn't have much thought put into it, so here's hoping that it isn't indicative of the film.

There seems to be no middle ground with Eddie Murphy movies: either they’re really good or really bad. No such thing as average with him.

    Metro is pretty cool.

I was thinking of Metro before I read the comments, personally I only revisit the first Beverly Hills Cop its far superior to the rest in the series. I have never been that bothered about a fourth movie, the tone they choose to go with will determine whether it works for me.

Hmmm, am not so sure. As a huge fan of Walter
Hill, he's been letting me down fir a long time!
For me, Hills best work was the start of his career, his first 6 or 7 movies were superb! It all went a bit off mid 80's ('Crossroads' 'Brewsters Millions!')
  • I'm quite surprised about the lukewarm reception of the announcement of "Beverly Hills Cop 4", while apparently everyone can't wait to see another Indiana Jones movie.
If Indy receives another movie, why shouldn't Axel Foley get one, too? Especially after part 3, which wasn't received well, there is not much to lose. Personally I'm looking forward to see Murphy one more time in the role - and hopefully hearing the iconic Axel F. - theme again.

Sure, I'd like to see the new BHC film. I hope whoever scores the film is either a) Harold Faltermeyer, or b) someone who can capture his sensibilities better than Nile Rodgers (and the behind the scenes people who guided his work). There's a shootout scene in some control room near the end of III, and they play Axel F. That's when I really miss Faltermeyer. Sure, they're playing the theme song, but it's too damn cheerful for the scene. The music takes away from the scene rather than enhancing it.

Yes, sadly the soundtrack of part 3 wasn't very convincing.
I really hope Faltermeyer will return, even though he hasn't made a lot of movie soundtracks lately, with the exception of "Top Gun: Maverick" of course. So let's hope Bruckheimer convinces him to work on this movie too.
My guess is either Faltermeyer or Lorne Balfe (or maybe both) will work on the movie. Balfe seems to have worked on almost every Bruckheimer movie of the last few years.

Paul Reiser is in it as well.

The website Moviehole (I don't know how reliable it is) says John Ashton is also in it, and the title is Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F., rather than Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. That's a much better title if you ask me.

Edit: I can see Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing a Judge Reinhold type of role.

    He's barely aged a day.

If Reiser and Ashton return, I'll be so happy.

I'd be considerably more excited for Beverly Hills Cop 4 if it was going to be a cinematic release and not just another streaming movie. Also I hope they let Eddie go full on Axel F and not tone him down to be more family friendly.

Right? And I know Hopkins has always been a legend but he's really, really knocking it out of the park these last few years. It's been great seeing him shift away from those generic DTV thrillers and back into proper indie and classics territory. His performance in The Father may be one of, if not the, greatest performances of the century.

Haven t seen that one, but yes, the performances was something that stood out in this trailer. That kid must be an up and coming star. Good message as well.
