For me, this scene is unbeatable.
Tired brain the minor joke went over my head 😂
Great scene as well as Queens songs the score was also good, there is some excellent snappy dialogue in this classic film.
That is a definite purchase.
You should be able to get tickets for November 29th's sneak preview today (Nov 3rd - "Godzilla Day").
I'm with you @Lucknfate. As of this writing, the Alamo Drafthouse doesn't have it on their schedule and I don't think that the IFC Center or the Film Forum would program a new "popcorn" flick - being focused more on indie and older titles. Interestingly, back in 2004, The Film Forum had a two-week Godzilla-Thon and they have screened Gojira (1954) on many occasions.
So far, the early reviews out of Japan for GODZILLA: MINUS ONE have been extremely positive. I think my only question is whether general US audiences will sit through a sub-titled movie. Godzilla fans will, but I'm not clear about everyone else.
BTW: While my plans are not final, I'm considering going for tomorrow's screening of the 1950 Howard Hawks version of "The Thing."
I have tentative plans with a friend (who doesn't enjoy going to the cinema much, strangely) for tomorrow, but if you know which FF screening time you're going to, I may be able to make the later one, things pending.
As for Minus One, I know IFC has been playing some of the latest Indian/Bollywood import blockbusters during their global release windows recently, which made me think there's a chance we'll get this.
It's basically Hitman in film mode, some of same locations, outfits and methods. I think the font is even from one of the games on each of the chapters.
Really well done I thought.
I didn't think I could be any more excited for the film but there it is.
While I love the film, the 35mm print used for the screening had several noticeable video and audio hiccups. And, unless I completely blacked out, there was an entire scene missing: the 'Japanese Torture' sequence in Nikki's room. Which always gets a laugh on the internet whenever the film is shown on TCM.
Here is director John Carpenter introducing the film on TCM some years ago.
BTW: As much as I liked Carpenter's version, it could have used ......
Very cute, I must say. :x
Glad you got to go! I was considering the later showing, or I think they were also showing a late-later Invasion of the Body Snatchers; unforch I was feeling under the weather and didn't make it out at all. Glad you enjoyed it. Perhaps next weekend!
It's a maybe, I am a big Garfield fan. Plus, Mark Dindal directed The Emperor's New Groove (saving it possibly in the process), so I'll likely give it a chance. However, dear Hollywood, there are other actors besides Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson. Both have been playing the same role for years, now.
THE BEEKEEPER Official Trailer (2024) Jason Statham, Action Movie HD (3:15)
I just hope its not another Coming2America, that sequel fell a bit flat.
Yeah I thought the sequel was pretty abysmal and suffered with that PG-13 rating.
I am always concerned with Netflix films as they seem to have a certain way of shooting there movies which I am not overly keen on. I do hear that Finchers The Killer bucks the trend thankfully.

I have only seen parts of Season 1 from Cobra Kai, so if they directly lead on from that series I will be a bit lost.
McCarthyism 2.0. This is where cancel culture at its worst takes us. Assumptions of bigotry where there very well may be none, then unfair firings and defamation. Just day to day I try to avoid saying anything bad about someone who is a minority because I fear I’ll be deemed racist even when all I’ve pointed out would be related to character and actions. People suck.
