I take it as he’s just injured and out of shape instead of just plain old. This could happen to any agent of any age.

We also have to keep a couple of other things in mind:
1. He wasn't exactly spring chicken when he became a 00 in the first place.
2. The life expectancy of most 00s is very short (as Bond admits in CR). They apparently don't live long enough to have the existential crisis Bond faces in SF.
He was also portrayed as old. That gray, scruffy beard was there for a reason. Moneypenny called him an "old dog, (with) new tricks".
I agree completely. @Milovy made a version of SF on fanedit.org (under the name 'Problem Eliminator', if you're curious) that removes the references to Bond being old, and the film is all the better for it.
And then do you get everyone of the cast and crew to sign insurance waivers that the film company cannot be held responsible for contracting and potentially dying from Covid due to working conditions?
I do like her photoshoots, she looks supercool and sharp every time. These photos could be a bit better though.
“Old dog” for a double-oh agent, yes. It’s almost like the NFL. Football players start getting classified as “old” once they hit their early to mid 30s.
I'm just glad they filmed NTTD before all this. Think it may well be a long time before Bond 26, Eon seem to have a take each film at a time approach, don't think they'll be thinking about Bond 26 until NTTD finally gets released.

Of course, nothing much more than that will happen for at least a year...but the blind optimist in me would love B26 in 2024/2025!

That’s what we thought about John Logan and SP originally. Purvis and Wade are just hacks that just keep getting lucky.
I just quickly searched on the UK Companies House website, but no B26 yet. I doubt they’re kicking off the next film this quickly.
That’s very evident from his films.

I was under the impression Disney had purchased Pinewood for the next several years and Eon was getting the boot.
Yeah, true....I heard that before the pandemic, but maybe they could work something out or EON finds somewhere new.
Maybe Eon could return to Leavesden or find another factory that could be converted to a film studio?
Either way, B26 could be years from now. Disney's contract should be expired by then.
