I believe this one is from a year ago, with Jason Connery and Fiona Ufton
I just found out that Connery’s former villa on the French Riviera is on the market for £27.4 million.
Thank you :) , lovely picture.
Wow, what a place.

Happy Birthday to Sir Sean Connery. May this day bring you as much joy as you’ve given to us over the years.
Zed….James Zed 😊
BTW: Charlotte Rampling as a Bond Girl may have worked IMO.
I agree regarding Charlotte Rampling, Charlotte was great in Farewell, My Lovely opposite Bob Mitchum as a Femme Fatale.
Maybe it's Sean's expression, but the first time I saw that picture I thought he looked a bit like Michael G Wilson.
Still great to see a recent shot of him. Happy birthday, Sean!
This is fun!
My answers and guesses. Left to right, top to bottom:
2. ? (I'm guessing Zardoz.)
3. You Only Live Twice.
4. ? (I'm guessing Cuba.)
5. The Anderson Tapes.
6. ? (from the typeface, I'm guessing it's from the fifties or sixties, and from the "and" credit, perhaps it's Tarzan or that movie with Patrick McGoohan.)
7. ? (I'm guessing Five Days, One Summer.)
8. Murder on the Orient Express.
9. ? (I'm guessing The Offence, because I think the titles looked like that, and I remember there was a murder in it, so it probably started with the crime scene. It's been a while since I watched it.)
10. ? (I'm guessing Shalako.)
11. ? (I'm torn between The Great Train Robbery, A Fine Madness and Woman of Straw.)
12. ? (I'm guessing Family Business.)
Happy Birthday, Mr Connery! Still the best Bond.
I'm almost 100% on 6 being The Avengers, and 11 League of Extraordinary, but I like The Presido very much, yeah. 7 Looks like Name of the Rose.
Back in 1998, music producer (Sir) George Martin asked some of his “friends and heroes” to join him in saluting the music that had been a major part of his life. It was to be (at the time) his retirement album. So, in addition to Beatles’ covers sung/played by the likes of Goldie Hawn, Celine Dion, Vanessa Mae, Billy Connolly and Robin Williams, etc., you have Sean Connery doing a nice spoken word version of “In My Life” to conclude the LP.
From the liner notes(*):
“There are only a few voices in the world which are completely unmistakable. When you hear the voice of Sean Connery you know who it is after one syllable. I wanted to finish with the poignant lyrics of “in My Life” and I cannot think there is anybody else who can give them the meaning that Sean does. He is a hero not just to me, but to almost everyone I know.”
-George Martin, producer
* Remember “liner notes” folks? Well Pepperidge farm remembers 😊.
I don't know the exact reason why Connery retired from movies when he did, but I have long thought it was a shame that his last film was the crummy League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I would have loved to see him as King Lear, or in a role of similar greatness.
I remember a quote from him saying he no longer felt a connection with the movie business. He regretted turning down roles for THE MATRIX and LORD OF THE RINGS. He turned them down because he didn’t understand them. So when they became hits, he took a chance in LGX even though he didn’t quite get the movie he figured it would keep his profile high. Since had a bad experience making it and it flopped he decided he was done for good.
The above link is a good interview with Sir Sean with one of his relations from 2007, Sean discusses leaving the movie business and turning down coming out of retirement to do Indy 4. (I posted this interview previously from a different source).
That is an illuminating interview. Seen it before, but fun to see it again. That is a great, loving smile he gives at the end.
