Wow he was an Olympic gold medallist? I never knew that. What was he doing in that tiny part! :)

Can't say I ever took notice of him in LTK, but reading about him now it was probably one of his considerably lesser achievements. RIP to one of the world's greatest athletes instead.

It seems that Yaroslav Horak, the artist who drew James Bond for the Daily Express in the period 1966-77 has passed away aged 93.

A small Bond connection for Peter Alliss, who apparently coached Sean Connery before the famous golf scene in Goldfinger. A nice photo of them together in the BBC obituary:

I love Horak s work. Brilliant artist. It was RIVER OF DEATH by him and Lawrence that introduced me to Bond back in the early 70s.

Jeez, the grim reaper really came this year for people involved in the production of Goldfinger!

A long productive life lived. Sad to hear of his Alzheimer's condition he's at peace now.

Just learned on Facebook that Bond production designer Peter Lamont has passed away.
Such sad news. One of the long term Bond crew, who went all the way back to GF, where he served as a draughtsman for Ken Adam.
    RIP

Oh no, that's very sad. A real big name in the world of Bond.

RIP Peter Lamont. Production designer on 9 Bond films and other big pictures like Titanic, Aliens, and True Lies.

Oh no. Just when you thought the year couldn't get any worse. What an absolute shame. Lamont was one of those truly indispensable key team members and seemed like such an incredibly down to earth person.

It's disheartening to think that over time we lose everyone but at least via the films and commentaries it's as if they're still with us.
  • Peter Lamont was indeed one of the greats. His art and production design truly helped make the Bond films as spectacular as they were over the years.

TCM (Turner Classic Movies in the US/Canada) has posted their annual “remembrances” for 2020. Among the actors presented are Bond alumni:

    Peter Lamont
    Diana Rigg
    Honor Blackman
    Michael Lonsdale
    Sean Connery
    Max von Sydow

This has been an all-star year for death, sadly.

TCM did a very good job with this--Sean gets three shots (more than anyone besides Olivia de Havilland) and Honor Blackman ingeniously follows right afterward. Diana's image is from the barn scene in OHMSS and well chosen. The passing of Olivia and Sean means the age of classic, larger-than-life stars is truly past.

Sad news to begin 2021 with the passing of former Bond girl Tanya Roberts.
Ms.Roberts appeared opposite Roger Moore in 1985's A View To A Kill.
Whilst not my favourite Bond girl, she was a very attractive actress, who this Bond fan was rather taken with as a young man. RIP.

Oh that’s too sad. She was always active on social media. On Saturdays she would talk to fans. In her prime, she would have made a great Supergirl. One of my favorites!

No word yet about the cause of death. But this is a major shock.

Just found out the news about Tanya Roberts, wow... 65 years old is still terribly young. She was stunning and seemed very sweet as a person.

    RIP.

Excellent point @Gatecrasher. While "Stacy" is far from my favorite Bond Girl, from various interviews she conducted over the years, Ms. Roberts always came across as a warm person and very down to earth. I read somewhat that she actually left "That 70's Show" to take care of her husband who was ill,
