I'm from Germany and I love "Our Friends in the North". Have seen it twice.
It's the BBC at its best, and one of the best TV series ever from the UK.
Yeh a great scene, very memorable.
Brilliant soundtrack too, with the best use of Roxy Music I have ever seen on film.
Last time they were gone, they served as a sort of warning signal that the film would be delayed as the marketing campaign was pulled. Then the marketing came back, and the hashflags as well. Strangely enough, they stayed up even after the movie was delayed again, up until now. Perhaps they're waiting to relaunch them when the marketing campaign kicks off for a third time?
Looks like a Bob Ross painting.
I can't put my finger on it exactly but every time I think about No Time to Die it really makes me nostalgic about the Moore era in particular, and in another way, the film feels like a fresh glass of water with a nice breeze haha :D
...so far.
You've nailed it mate, that's exactly how I feel about it. I'm getting a really good feeling from it. Fingers crossed it translates to the film
I get what you’re saying! However for me it looks more 60s classic Bond, and less like Moore. Sort of a mix of Dr. No and You Only Live Twice.
I'm just guessing but a nod to past movies and Fleming stories in diff. scenes like props, maybe lines by the actors, music choice/detail, Bond handguns, two vintage cars, what Craig is wearing like a detail, paintings in Ms office, look at Safin's character/lair, etc
Babs & co are pretty good at including the past. Nothing happends by chance so to speak.
It's the same thing with royals. If you see let's say a royal wedding, there are details everywhere as a nod and/or tribute to the past/dead royals
Bond was out of action in Skyfall for months and he was rusty to say the least, what's he going to be like after 5 years?
I think also because we seem to be getting bigger and bolder action sequences, along with this weird description I've given, it feels a lot more classic...
I would also say Spectre actually came close to this, but was completely undone by its visual tone and story.
Again I'm finding it hard to put into words haha, so I hope someone gets me :D
That is a good point, yeah. So much was made of him being 'out of step' in Skyfall it would seem a bit weird for him to be automatically amazing again this time around, but then it would be a bit repetitious to go through all that stuff again. Maybe we can explain it with Bond being a bit depressed/suffering from shock in Skyfall?
Felix: I need a favour brother, you’re the only one I trust for this.
Bond: Yep. I’m in.
Felix: But you dont know what it is I need your help with.
Bond: Mate I am so bored, there’s only so much Heineken swigging you can do ‘round these parts. Let’s go!
Heineken in Jamaica? That would be,well, a weird choice.
Depends how much they're paying you to be sponsored! :D
After 5 years though I do wonder if hes abit like jamie lee curtis in the latest "Halloween". Where he might still do target practice and stuff to stay in the game. He is seen sporting that harpoon gun in Jamaica isnt he? And a pistol in one photo?
Yes good point, he seems to be keeping more active in Jamaica than he was in Turkey - he's actually fishing (possibly even spearfishing as Fleming was keen on that) and sailing in Jamaica, as opposed to sitting on his bed drinking cheap beer in Turkey :D
That's true he is sailing aswell gives me "casino royale" vibes from the third act.
Mark the part you want to hide. Then click on the sixth icon from the left above the typing field, which says "format" One of the options that appear is "spoiler". Click. To check if you have done it right, preview.
Ah, yes - a good point. This is a bit of a problem with some of the corners they've backed themselves into with the narrative. If Bond is 'out of shape' again, and needs more training to get back into shape, again . . . well it's a bit repetitive, isn't it?
He's sailing a yacht called Spirit 46 in NTTD. In CR the yacht was an Spirit 54. Name of the sponsoring company: Spirit Yachts, based in Suffolk, UK

And welcome to the forum :-)
Putting both there last names together and what do you get… White Swann, or as I was thinking the play, White Swan. I then started thinking what is the story about…hear is a brief summary.
“It features Prince Siegfried and a lovely swan princess named Odette. Under the spell of a sorcerer, Odette spends her days as a swan swimming on a lake of tears and her nights in her beautiful human form. The couple quickly falls in love.”
Now this got me thinking even further, does Madeline fall in love with safin (like Elektra & renard, ie Stockholm syndrome) back then, and she eventually manages to leave him then going into hiding. Let us not forget when bond catches up with her in “SPECTRE” he actually says “How does one train at Oxford and the sorbonne become a consultant, spend two years with medicines sans frontieres and end up here? Forgive me, but anyone might think you where hiding from something?”
Now firstly it made me think she was hiding out here to get away from safin. & two did she study with safin in these medicines or was his profession different? (This is probably too on the nose, like bond and blofeld being stepbros)
Im sure this is well off base and maybe alittle too in the fantastical. But I thought I would just share my thoughts on here. be interesting to hear what anyone has to say.
wow thats cool & thank you, I've been on here for awhile but usually just read other comments and not post too much. Great site btw "Mi6 community" I guess the anticipation for "NTTD" is slowly building (fingers crossed we get it in October) and has caused me to need to talk just a little about bond.
