I really don't like heatwaves and we've been through one. In fact, I generally dislike summertime. Apparently I'm not alone: https://www.webmd.com/depression/summer-depression

After almost two years, a french channel has at least begun to air the sixth season of Agents of SHIELD, three episodes a night on tuesday evenings. So, given that I have to wake up early to go to work (4am), I decided to use the replay function of my box. But at the beginning of this week, that channel has decided to stop airing the series, with no explanation whatsoever, and to replace it with a documentary about camping. Why, I don't know. And furthermore, they have put the entire season on replay, which means that they don't have any intention of airing the repaining episodes. I do'nt complain for me, I have replay. But what of the people who don't have it ? I should be accustomed by now to the lack of respec for the audience shown by these channels, but they still manage to surprise me.

This being a particularly hot day here where I live, I can empathize. I'm not a big fan of the summer myself. I prefer colder climates, and the rain. Suits my cold heart. ;)

I think last time I was happy about summertime was when I was at school age. Okay so maybe I still liked it when I was at uni but even then... If you think about it, summer is not so great: there's the heat and the long hours that disturb sleep time of course, but it's also the worst time to look for a job, it's the worst time to work if you do have a job and everyone seems to be so smug about being happy... Also it might be my own experience, but it seems that all of my breakups and following heartbreaks happened during summertime.

I absolutely feel the same way, @Ludovico. Too hot during the night to sleep; too hot to go out during the day. I usually spend my best hours around midnight, with at least a few cool breezes keeping me company through an open window. I'll just try to sleep through most of the morning hours, with a noisy ventilator by my side. Not a lot to look forward to for me about the summer.

My rant? After NTTD they will be looking for a new Bond actor. Given that movies these days are so filled with CGI I'm just like do another with Dalton & DE-AGE him!! With so much of these movies not even shot on real locations in cars that, during action scenes, aren't even real cars WTH difference does it really make? At least we'd get a great Bond with his actual performance! The days of spending 200 mill on a movie shot for real are over now anyway!

Radio edits to shorten great songs. What's next - only showing 3/4 of the Mona Lisa? Ripping-out and selling the final 3 chapters of Great Gatsby?

    It is an evil practice!

I can't remember when I started disliking summer. As a child of course I loved it because of the holidays, but I do remember envying my brother because his birthday was in October and that was the month of Halloween.

Woke? WhyTF were you ever so asleep you needed to be 'woke'? MAGA? Again as compared to what? "Yeah, no..." Which is it? "I could care less." Oh, you could. So you do care to some degree or other... just spitballin' here... ;)

Thanks to the idiocy of my fellow Americans my upcoming vacation to Italy was jeopardized. The EU has recently removed America from its safe list of countries for nonessential travel and it suggests restricting them from entering. The guidance is non-binding however, and Italy has decided that it will allow American tourists if they are vaccinated and if they have been tested 48 hours before entering the country.

Being a sane person, I have been fully vaccinated since late May, but now I have to arrange a test shortly before my flight. I was able to schedule a rapid test at my local CVS that should be accepted for international travel, but I'm still nervous--and irritated that so many Americans are paranoid dolts willing to jeopardize an entire society's safety out of an ignorant conception of "freedom." Societies with such low levels of trust are doomed to decline.

This shot of Klaus Maria Brandauer was posted on a Facebook movie page:

in the comments section, I quoted the line of dialogue he speaks here.
I got a Facebook warning threatening to restrict my account.

    LOL

I sent an appeal emphasizing that Largo (as well as James Bond) are fictional characters. It was only a movie quote and Brandauer wasn't really threatening Domino here. They were only ACTING.

Not really a whinge or a moan but couldn't think of another thread to put it in, apart from the RIP thread. Just heard that the publisher has decided to stop the print edition of Empire magazine. On the one hand I am quite sad to see another printed magazine come to an end, but the truth is Empire had long since past its glory days. I cant remember the last time I bought a copy and I used to buy it religiously every month. I guess 32 years is a good old run. I still love an actual magazine in my hands, the thrill of leafing through the pages coming across an article that takes me by surprise. Sad times for physical media

Wow! Empire Magazine had tons of Bond articles. I had several issues during the Brosnan era.

Sad about that! But have to say the quality of Empire mag has diminished in layout articles etc considerably over the past couple of years!
Used to buy it every month, but only occasionally now!

I think 2012 was the last time I was subscribed to a magazine, and it was in fact Empire because many big anticipated films had come out that year like THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and SKYFALL.

That was the last year for me because by the end of 2012 I had gotten my first touchscreen smart phone. I can probably count the times I’ve even bought a single magazine over the past nine years, like when the new Twin Peaks hit the cover of Entertainment Weekly. I still collect and read books because that’s how I prefer to read them. Magazines however not so much because not only can I just go online and read articles but how often am I going to read them again like an old book?

Magazines were great and fun in the context of their time but as far as physical media goes it’s not something I miss as much as going to a video rental store.

Well, I'm oldschool, so I still like print magazines.
Am only subscribed to 'Cinema Retro ' if, like me, you're into movies of 60/70s era!
I still get Mi Confidential, but only occasionally!
007 magazine used to be great, but they only do specials now I think!

Did Graham Rye fall off the face of the earth? I don’t think I’ve heard anything from him since his scathing review of QOS. He used to be such a big figure among Bond fandom but has gone quiet. What gives?

    Handy for planes though :)

I've seen him a bit on Facebook I think, talking Bond (not that I do Bond groups there). He's often rather, erm, abrasive.

Okay here's a big one: my wife bought tickets for No Time to Die in the little town where her parents live. So this Saturday, we're supposed to let our little boy spend the afternoon with her grandparents and we watch James Bond together. Since Casino Royale, it's a tradition. But we have about a quarter of a tank of petrol left in the car and people have been panicked buying for the last week!

Damn, that's the kind of thing that would stress me out, particularly where Bond is concerned. I've been carefully planning my trip to the cinema to see NTTD.
Now the engine light has come on in my vehicle and I may need a mass air flow sensor. My budget is tight.
Not being mechanically inclined I fear this may interfere with my seeing Bond this week.
No busses or trains here so if all else fails my Dad may have to give me a ride to the cinema this Friday.

I am tired of movies that think action works without plot, u need a character to drive the movie or will be just a videogame with actors.
