Dear Ms. Barbara Broccoli or her next of Kin,
    What about this:
BOND is in the WORSE TROUBLE ever.
He is out numbered 20 to one.
There is NO WAY he can survive.
    M gets on the phone.
SHE CALLS OUT TO ALL RETIRED BOND 007 AGENTS.
All 6 Previous BOND 007 Agents appear in one BOND MOVIE.
You will have to figure the rest out Barbara.
You are the MOVIE MOGUL not me.

    There's two problems with this:

    1) Sean Connery has retired from acting and from public apperances. And he's said he's having too much fun in retirement to return to acting.

    2) More importantly, it would ruin the new continuity. Craig's films are officially set in a timeline separate to the previous twenty films. Bringing the other actors back would ruin that.

What about the Goldfinger clone? Judi Dench? Fields covered in oil?

And honestly... Who cares about continuity ?

    Quoting DaltonCraig007: Judi Dench?
She was kept in the films for the sake of having a constant between the films that could be identified with the audience.
Quoting DaltonCraig007: Fields covered in oil?
    It's called an homage.

Uh, EON, since they made a big deal out of it when they first pitched CASINO ROYALE as a reboot.

The suggestion of having the previous Bonds come back has been raised before. And there's a reason why it's never happened - it's a stupid idea.

Not really, as the whole 'continuity' was thrown out the window for QOS. Was QOS set a few minutes after CR, or in 2008 as all props and technology seem to show? And if the 2nd option is true, where does the 2 year gap occure between both films?

B23, being made 4 years since QOS and 6 years since CR, the so-called 'continuity' won't exist anymore. It'll be a one-off non-Quantum film, or, at best, a Quantum story barely following the first 2 Craig outings.

Nevertheless, there is still a continuity running. Both films are still in a separate timeline to the other twenty.

And if you're desperately looking for those two years, think of them as taking place before the epilogue to CASINO ROYALE. After all, M knows of - and probably authorised - the operations to capture Mr. White.

And it wouldn't be too difficult to write BOND 23 as being a Quantum story directly related to the first two. Just have M realise that Quantum is this vast network and has decided to take her time to try and identify Quantum members, and it has taken four years for her to get them in a position she wants them in.

The world is becoming ever dependent on energy and the means to provide it or control it, so it seems that a good plot could be a Billionaire energy baron with global interests and a fixated desire to control all of the worlds energy companies or at least have the technology that will give him/her the edge over the competition and eventually the darker desire to hold the worlds governments to ransom for their perpetual need for the dwindling resources.

The villain would need to be educated, charming, well traveled and able to mix with all levels of people and, hold their attention as far as his/her company/companies interests are progressing within the world markets.

A character with this type of mind would not be averse to stealing any government’s secrets to get ahead and any technology advances to achieve his/her ends.
The sheer unscrupulousness of his/her personality will be concealed by a cloaked facade of philanthropy with the majority of the world paying for his/her services and consultancy.

James Bond will be drawn into the web of deceit due to intelligence revealing strange company mergers and takeovers involving massive companies with long standing traditions willingly handing over power to who they think is the force to carry their investments and business advancement into the future.

James Bond will endeavor to globe trot investigating deeply concerning events of corporate espionage, blackmail, missing executives and other high-ranking personnel who seem unable to answer questions without the constant threat devastating consequences.

For James Bond to get to the source of this Billionaires master plan he will need to break the inner core of deceit and get past the people who have been paid off, this coupled with the issue that the same people would rather see him dead than ruin their financially beneficial agreements, to which exposure would destroy them, their careers and family.

Bond will discover networks upon networks of companies all practicing the same double-dealing with an unflinching wish to remove him from any further investigation.

The Billionaire will find him merely an amusing distraction to his day-to-day business affairs and toy with his interference as a pleasurable game of chess, while he continues to plot against the world and see his/her plan through.

This type of story-line would have a reality based feel and could be backed up with a mixture of fact and fiction.
