The Death Of Us All ;)
Things i liked.
DC ..simply brilliant in it..gives his most relaxed and confident interpretation of bond. I liked his swagger throughout the movie...he kinda plays himself abit in a way.
I liked the interaction between him and felix and makes me abit sad that jefferey wright wasnt used much in the series as whole.
Most of the supporting actors did a commendable job.
I liked the plot. And thought it was well explained and certainly relevant to today.
Good action sequences.
Emotional final third of the movie.
Hans zimmer did a great job...especially final ascent.
What i didnt like..
Unfortuantely.. though i think he had his moments.. rami malek villian simply didnt have enough screen time...i think their was a good role in there...but not enough screen time to flesh it out.
Ana de amas also needed more screen time.
The song...pales in comparison to predecessors.
Overall enjoyable and emotional.
Certainly in the top tier of bond movies.
"Top tier" Bond movie is a great way to describe it.
My nonspoiler review is: I love this film. B-) Let me count the ways a little:
- Inspired direction. What a talented director Cary is.
- Truly superb cinematography
- Brilliant acting, especially by Daniel but supporting actors are wonderful
- Excellent, exciting, superbly executed action sequences, with sound editing perfect (you feel like you are right there in the middle of it)
- Emotional and moving, but that is not a problem for me with Daniel's films. I'm glad this one tied things up in a way I found very fitting finale for Daniel's Bond; his story arc.
- This film does not lag. It is long but does not feel overly long.
- The music is lovely and serves the story well.
Not so great:I do think the main villain was rather weak. The villain's evil plans take a bit of unravelling (well, for me anyway).
That's all, really. A superb Bond film, but a divisive one for longtime fans.
So precisely, exquisitely done and that's what I have been telling friends: you feel like you are right there in it. Great sound editing throughout adds a lot, too.
What interests me is that Fukunaga described the film as having horror vibes and French noir film vibes. Without giving too much away, did you guys get that feel from the film?
Horror I only really got from the beginning and one later setpiece, but French noir is definitely a consistent vibe.
The action scenes ..fight .car chases were very visceral ..and they put you right in the middle of it.
Yep, those were top notch. The very best. And the set design was also stellar.
Going in with an open mind, very excited. Hope that's how still feel in a few hours.

I saw it at the premiere, which is always a tricky one to navigate. I always end up feeling sick with anticipation and the atmosphere can be a bit all consuming. Not to mention the acoustics in that place.
Regardless, I really enjoyed it, although I left a little shell-shocked. After several more viewings it’s settled. It’s unique. An excellent entry that packs a proper punch. It has its issues but I can feel every bit of love and thought that went into it. All I ask, whatever story they choose to tell, is that they go all out - and Fukunaga did that and more.

Yep interesting to see a fair few regulars who love it. I am open minded about seeing it again now
Idk, I'll see it next week hopefully, but so far I am getting the vibe of:
The great things are better than SPECTRE
The bad things are worse than SPECTRE
Idk if better version of SPECTRE combined with a worse version of SPECTRE is something that I want to see from this movie.
But again, this is just me forming my opinion based of non-spoiler reviews.
Man, I am so scared they'd do some terrible things, to the point where if the movie ends with Safin saying "Hey...maybe this villain thing is not all that great. Yeah, Edit can I work for MI6? Yeah cool" and then Bond and Safin start singing and dancing "Why can't we be friends" while the credits roll.... I'd still be like "hey, it could've been worse"
..alright, maybe not, idk :D We'll see next week if this is DAD/SPECTRE level of "oh this might Edit up the franchise" or not... and seeing how they have a "new agent that might get a spin-off cause she is a black independent woman that don't need no man" aspect from DAD...and the "Hey, little bro haha, I am Blofeld, remember how we loved skiing and stuff? Haha" aspect from SPECTRE .... it's not a good start
..oh and also it's continuing one of the most forced love stories in the history of the franchise with Swann... yeaaaah, my expectations are loooow
But the plot/story was the biggest problem. It honestly needed to sit in the oven and cook some more. The film will be a success, but it could have been so much better if someone had sat down and filled in the plot holes and addressed the dangling threads. The villain came across like an angry incel. I still don't get his relationship or fixation with Madeleine. The homage to the Bond Tracy relationship in OHMSS was a nice touch, but sadly Swann just doesn't come across as the type of woman a man would loose himself over.
The film will be a success but it could have been so much better. I would rank it right in the middle behind CR and SP.
Sorry, my mistake. I meant I place it behind Casino Royale and Skyfall.
I loved a lot of the movie the first time but it felt weird when I left the cinema. I waited three days and watched it again and I liked it even more. After knowing the "surprises" it was easier for me to enjoy the rest (if this makes any sense).
I will watch it again tomorrow...
You and me both! When I exited last Thursday, I just didn't know what I had seen! Going to wait to wait until I see it again, and hopefully I can muster up something to say!

All in all I liked it, but there were some things that didn’t sit well. I think it’s a mid-tier entry for me at the moment.
