Thanks @Benny . I just got an IMAX ticket for tomorrow night. Don't come on here anymore. Both @Creasy47 and I have come across some major spoilers. Stay away.
That's unfortunate...oh the joys of being a moderator when you have to read spoiler threads. Or were you spoiled on this thread by that accidental comment on the last page?

I was, unfortunately. I brushed it off at first, but I did anticipate what was going to happen during the finale.

    "Living Daylights, The"! :))

Reminds me of the video store around the corner from me here in Hamburg. Every movie that begins with the definite article (der, die, das) goes in the D section. I had a fight with them about it once. :))

Reminds me of the old way IMDb used to list their movies, don't think they do it this way anymore.

    4. CASINO ROYALE
    5. DR. NO

    22. DIE ANOTHER DAY
    23. MOONRAKER
    24. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
    25. SPECTRE

    Excellent.

Still mulling my own over, I’d say NTTD has a ceiling of #10 and floor of #16 for the time being on my list, but I’m definitely leaning towards the higher side.

@Birdleson interesting placement! I never like to presume, but I was expecting it to fair worse for you on back of your dislike of Spectre.
I currently I have it sat at 20/25 (Spectre is at no.24), but I do need to go in for a second viewing without the pomp and ceremony of the premiere!

The constant praise of the strengths of the action is what has me most excited, I think. Less than four hours to go now.

Thanks, me too! I guess I'll try to rank it tonight once I'm home, after I've shared my thoughts. It'll likely fluctuate in rank once I've had a chance to see it a few more times but would love to see how it stacks up against all the others after this first viewing.

Gotta say, those opening scenes are utterly terrific. In fact, the entire PTS is phenomenal.
  • @Birdleson I'm so glad to see that you enjoyed it more than you expected to (based on your comments in the spoiler thread)!

Obviously it isn't top-tier for you, but that's awesome to see that you did indeed have a great time.

I won't be ranking it just yet, it's such an odd film for more reasons than the major ones. Definitely going to see it again, mull it over, etc.

The more it’s going through my head, the more I think it’s kind of dropping a few spots. It really does not belong ahead of FYEO or LTK. I’m pretty sure, after a second viewing of NTTD, that it won’t rival my deep affection for those two.

Certainly not my beloved LTK!! 😁
I still, after 2 viewings, have no idea where to place NTTD!

Connery was going through the motions in DAF. Soundtrack aside, it's not a great Bond film and the paying audiences agreed.
  • @Birdleson It'll be a little before I can get a second viewing in. As of now I'm thinking somewhere in the 8-12 range. But it's hard to say.

Again, really happy to see that you got more out of it than you expected :) even if it isn't a favorite.
