Heh! Not Crystal Palace I'm afraid :D

The thumbnail lured me in, though I will pass on this one.

Don't know if it was posted here before, but he's got some really nice things to say and tell.

Pierce is set to play a skilled, aging hitman in Phillip Noyce's Fast Charlie, scheduled to begin production in January:

"The film is based on Victor Gischler’s Edgar Award-nominated novel, Gun Monkeys. It centers on Charlie Swift (Brosnan), who has worked for his aging mob boss Stan for twenty years, skillfully operating as a prolific fixer and efficient hitman. When a rival boss moves to eliminate Stan and his entire team, he fails in wiping the team clean. Now on his own, Charlie will stop at nothing to avenge his friend, and has no plans to leave anyone alive."

I hope it's good. Every once in a while he shows up in a really good thriller, like The Foreigner or No Escape.

And the much-delayed The King's Daughter is getting released next year. What took so long?

    ---

Having now seen NTTD three times, and not any other Bond film in a year, I'm looking forward to revisiting the old ones. I think Brosnan gets to go first. A smooth operator:

I just got the blu ray of Taffin today.
Which prompts me to ask for a list of your favourite non-Bond Brosnan movies!
    Mine:
    Taffin
    Live Wire
    Tailor Of Panama
    After The Sunset
    Seraphim Falls
    November Man
    The Foreigner

This is a very good list. I haven't seen the first three yet but intend to. I'm especially happy to see Seraphim Falls mentioned. That was an intriguing, heavily symbolic quasi-supernatural western. I would add Mars Attacks! and The Matador to what you have here, and I'm hopeful Black Adam can join this list soon enough too.

    Favorite Brosnan non Bond movies:

    THE NOVEMBER MAN
    THE FOURTH PROTOCOL
    LIVE WIRE
    TAFFIN
    MISTER JOHNSON
AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS

    DEATH TRAIN aka DETONATOR
    TAILOR OF PANAMA

A couple of these were actually television films. Still, whenever I need my Brosnan fixation satisfied, they do the job.

Mrs. Doubtfire, he was underrated in that.
  • I love Pierce in anything he's in. One of my favorite actors ever and my favorite portrayal of Bond ever. I've seen the whole “jack of all master of none” thrown around but I actually like that about his Bond. He is basically a mixture of all the others.

The kills of Dr. Kaufman and Elektra might just be my two favorites in the entire series.

Far ahead of the pack is
    Thomas crown affair
Which I even prefer over the Steve McQueen original (which I also love and have).
    Then
    the tailor of panama
    Brosnan nails the role perfectly.
    the foreigner
Is extremely good as well. Jacky Chan and Brosnan really play off eachother really well.

My second favorite non-Bond Brosnan. It sometimes flips to first. I’m very indecisive about some things haha. In fact, my top 5 with him switched around quite often.

Just watched Taffin for the first time in a couple decades. Cool little movie. Enough of a budget to get a Mustang Mach 1! Just kidding, it was charming. A breezy little 96 minutes. Allison was stunning.

Looking forward to seeing him play Dr.Fate in Black Adam.Though I thought he would make an excellent Alfred in a Batman movie now.

This thread has prompted me to revisit some of Brosnan's non-Bond work. I just rewatched The Thomas Crown Affair. It really is an excellent film. I prefer it to the original as well. The original has the star power of McQueen and Dunaway but otherwise it's kind of an uninvolving film. McTiernan's version really crackles. I also just realized that Brosnan and Connery both played smooth art thieves caught up in games with female detectives-cum-love interests in 1999.

Brosnan is definitely one of my favorite Bonds, and favorite actors as well. He should have totally gotten a 5th movie...hell, he should have been offered the job sooner and wrapped up with 6 or 7 like Connery and Moore

That's funny. To me, he should never have been given the role at all!!

He at least looked the part, probably more so than any other Bond actor aside from Connery

Brosnan fits the basic template of cinematic Bond, but I don’t see Fleming’s Bond in Brosnan. For one thing, Brosnan is too smooth.

I'm going to +1 the TCA remake... I love that and The Matador. Probably my two favourite non-Bond Brosnan movies... Aside from Mrs Doubtfire where he's more the supporting actor :).

I also noticed your icon is back... and in colour!
