Bond: Technology has come a long way, Q. But we must put it to further use. One word: Vesper.
FACES FROM MY PAST RETURN
November 2025
This is perfect. Everyone is looking to The Batman as the most probable source of inspiration for B26, but there's one other massive box-office hit out there I think everyone is overlooking.
When the machine goes wrong, Craig's Bond, back from oblivion, finds himself suddenly pitted against the likes of Mads Mikkelson, Javier Bardem, Christoph Waltz, Rami Malek, Sean Bean, Toby Stephens, Robert Davi, Benicio del Toro, Joe Don Baker, Christopher Walken, and Anatole Taubman...all at the same time.
The odds are stacked well against Bond until a disruption causes the threads that separate dimensions to unwind, bringing him aid from Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, and Halle Berry.
Final shot of the trailer: Lea Seydoux saying, "Three Jameses, lucky me."
Don't you agree, @ColonelAdamski? ;)
...and Joe Don Baker. Again.
Joe Don Baker vs. Joe Don Baker. Eon, this thing is writing itself.
What image hath your mind wrought? :))
I blame Saturday Night Live. Boyle vs. Belushi in "Dueling Brandos."
That was funny. Your idea is such a mixture of Bond styles between the parody and the serious interpretation but the kilts are the linchpin which ties the two Bond styles together! :)
Oh, was Lazenby's a serious interpretation, then? And where does Halle Berry fall in this mash-up?
Yes, I'd say it's one of the more serious adaptations of Fleming’s work along with the early Connery films and the two Dalton films. Halle Berry probably just emerges from the sea...in a kilt.
DC's involvement with the series in front or behind the scenes will be possible if not crucial.
Notice how in his interviews, everyone was asking DC to pick who the next Bond would be...his involvement is highly welcome if not needed to keep the series away from repeating itself with the Bond formula tropes and cliches that so many types like Lee Tamahori and Michael Apted's want to do.
...Playing the bagpipes...
It really does when you put it in perspective. I saw CR in theaters at the tail end of high school and I saw NTTD as a new father now in my 30s. It's going to get pretty surreal the closer we get to having a new Bond named, knowing it won't be Craig any longer.
Still, I'm excited for the next start. Craig put his definitive stamp on the franchise and I'm also ready to move on with something fresh.
I wasn't sure how to take it but you might be right, @Thunderfinger.
It's a fine balance between the sadness of Craig departing the series but also the excitement of what the future holds. Plus, for me at least, the first installment of a new era is always one of the strongest, so this will hopefully be the most excited I'll be for a new installment in a long time. I can't wait to see what unfolds.
I really hope them looking into the next Bond this year brings something fruitful and definitive sooner rather than later, just like you said.
