Nice that it'll be viewable on Prime. Sounds like a good way to spend an evening once it's on there.

Cool poster, and cool news about the recorded version on Prime. The concert program hasn't been released, has it? Some guesses can be made of what the music will be, though, based on the featured artists. I wonder if there will be any instrumental pieces (apart from the Bond theme which I presume will be played). The Albert Hall website description makes it sound like it'll be mostly songs.

    Got my ticket! 😁

    This reminds me of this.

I fear it will be mostly songs, but David Arnold is curating it I think, which gives me hope that there'll be a few score cues in there.

£5 says “Welcome to Cuba” is played.

If you were to do all the Bond themes (I include The JB Theme, and WHATTITW), you’d probably end up at around 95 mins.

I'd take that bet because I'm sure it won't! :) On the other hand, if Space March doesn't get played then I'd be fairly amazed.
It'd be fun if Shirley did Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. That'd be a nice change.

With it being an official Eon event I'm hoping there's visual content from the movies too.
  • With David Arnold curating, I wonder if this at least opens the doors up to the possibility of him returning for the next era.

It might be a bit optimistic, but does this suggest Tim is in town? Might he pop in do you think...?

A trailer for the documentary (a different thing, but the same name!)

Prime does free trials all the time. Alternatively, sign up for a month and cancel right away. That still gives a month's access to it with the convenience of not having to obtain them through, how shall we say, the high seas.

Well that was excellent. Some wonderful choices, incredible singers and cues (not just songs!) played fantastically that I’ve never heard live before. And yes, that includes Bond 77 ;)
Also, a bit of a surprise: You Know My Name sung by none other than David Arnold himself. And very well too.

And I even spotted 007 herself in the audience :D

For those interested, there are loads of photos and even a few videos from the event here:

    Amazing, thank you!
Does Dame Shirley insist on having her own conductor do you think?

Not sure what time the concert goes live on Prime, but just finished the the sound of 007 documentary and I absolutely loved it. Not sure what I was expecting and whilst it could be way longer in duration, it succeeded in warming my heart. Hearing so many who have contributed so much to the music of bond over the years, and speak so glowingly, sharing little nuggets about their inspiration and methods, whilst those timeless tracks played was liquid Bond for me.

They were probably mixing it live but I’ll let them have a few hours to edit the concert :D I hope it’s the whole thing and they don’t trim any tracks out.

No, just his Bond medley from his concerts (Bond theme + Cuba chase). There were some lovely surprise choices of great cues from the films, I hope they all make it in.

Just watched the Sounds Of 007 documentary on Prime. I thought it was great, it's always nice to see so many people talk so enthusiastically about the series.

I do wish they would have spoke about You Know My Name though, they even put Chris Cornell's picture after Jack White and Alicia Keys in the end montage

The documentary is fantastically designed- it looks wonderful with excellently chosen photos and terrific animations. Whoever the designers are behind all of the 60th materials they've done a brilliant job.

Would love to know who design all of the Sound of 007 and Prime Video posters. They're fantastic!

Are we sure the concert is getting released soon? There was no date with the announcement, and it would be confusing for people to get The Sound of 007 documentary, as promised in the Prime Video schedule, then The Sound of 007 in Concert, which hasn't got the same promotion and would be drowned among announcement of all the films streaming there. I bet they'll take their time and rather premiere it in November or December, as it will allow them to schedule one more event during the anniversary year.
