    It’s the small details like looking twice at the girl, holding up the photo before giving it, the lean, or the heavy breathing to add to the physical parts. He was slick and quick in his body language in a way that added to the cool factor rather than detract from it.

    Too true! I'd have even been satisfied with the bank escape and nothing more. I like the boat chase, but just that first half in Spain would have sufficed for me. It's brisk, intriguing, and exciting in a perfect amount of time.

    Oh, absolutely, they should have cued the music once he landed and gave that nod to the bystanders. One of the best openings, I'd say.

    I would've loved it either way - I do enjoy the extension into MI6 that really sets the stage for what's to come but I think cuing up the title sequence right after his escape would've been perfect too.

    I remember loving this one so much as a kid that I'd end up playing the hell out of that bank map on the N64 version of the game with bots. It was a lot of fun.

    Pierce in The Out-Laws, coming to Netflix on July 7th. I can't imagine it's going to be spectacular but I've seen all his films so something new from him is good enough.

    I'm a victim, a victim of love... for Brosnan. After the sunset, I should probably watch one of his films or TV shows. You know, when I watch a Brosnan film, I feel like the only living boy in New York, even though I'm not a boy anymore, and I don't even live in New York. My mom always said don't talk to strangers, and while Brosnan is a stranger in the strict sense of the word, if I ever met him, I would definitely talk to him, because he doesn't feel like a stranger at all. I'd like to sit with him next to a nice little garden and have a chat with some tea and biscuits. I love the smell of freshly cut grass, so I'd probably ask the lawnmower man to go to work before getting entangled with Pierce. Finally, I'd like to include the phrase 'butterfly on a wheel' somewhere in this post, but I'm finding it difficult to do so, so I guess I won't do it.

    My choice is made. Today I'm watching Carpathian Eagle, an episode of Hammer House of Horror, in which Pierce essays the role of "Last Victim", a complex portrayal of... late victimhood, I'm sure.

    You’ve never WHAT?!? Go. Go watch it now. Immediately! It’s an incredible film, and I’m a massive fan of the one from 68. But, IMHO, the 99 one is a gem. Pierce is at his best. A truly ageless film. And then there’s Russo… And that soundtrack… I watch both back to back 68/99 once a yearc at least. I only with Pierce had a Bond film from that year in which he were half as stylish as in TCA. Come back with a review ;)

    That’s true. Same can be said for Craig. I love his Benoit series, but he needs a Road to Perdition or a Munich, in which to star and properly shine. So does Pierce. But the problem, nowadays, is having good original scripts for them to showcase their talents.

    When given a decent script PB is a fine actor. Forget these lame romantic comedies Pierce and get your agent to get you something gritty and hard hitting.

    I don’t think he has such aspirations. He’s now 70 and comfortably settled with playing elderly romantic leads until he retires. It’s too bad. Immediately post-Bond, he seemed to go for some challenging roles with interesting projects from THE MATADOR to THE GHOST WRITER. But then he does junk like I.T., SURVIVOR, and THE MISFITS.

    Yeah, tbh, I also get the impression that Pierce is happy just coasting and doing things for a bit of easy money and mild enjoyment now. That's not a criticism either - the bloke's 70, he can do what he likes and good luck to him.

    Yeah it is bizarre to see some of his latest work. I liked him as Dr. Fate however. That casting was spot on.

    I couldn’t muster any interest for BLACK ADAM. It looked like a movie entirely generated out of AI.

    Pierce seems to be loving life and enjoying his art and taking roles as they come, whatever they are. I don't remember the last film of his I saw that I genuinely loved - maybe The Foreigner? It's been a while. I'm just happy to see him doing his thing and having a good time with it.

    Tarantino liked him as Bond, but it’s interesting that he never offered him anything, unless Brosnan turned down any offers.

    I think Pierce's best performance as Bond was in TWINE, which was filmed right after Thomas Crown. I don't think it's a coincidence.
