I found this rummaging through storage boxes, I don't think I ever completed this game, I was a huge fan of the series on the earlier consoles.

My progression is still on my 360 profile though tempted to start the game from scratch.

Edited: My previous save is only a few stages into the game, had fun laser painting tanks and enemy soldiers for aerial attacks.

I never played that one. I remember playing the original game on PS1, then Frontlines on PS2. My friend had Rising Sun, which I borrowed, but I don't remember anything about it.

As I haven't played Shadow Of The Tomb Raider yet, I have gone back to the beginning of the trilogy to replay Tomb Raider first.

I am still a quarter of the way through Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I got stuck a few years ago or so and abandoned the game. I plan to start the game again from scratch at some point I have totally forgotton what objectives I had completed in the current area. To be honest Shadow.. did not grab me in the same way Rise of the Tomb Raider did, Rise... was superb I completed that game very quickly as was totally locked in.

    Evil Dead: The Game
As this was one of the free games on PS+ for February, I downloaded it to see what it's like, as it's free, I have nothing to loose. It's actually quite fun to play, but it has a steeper learning curve than Friday The 13th: The Game, though I would have preferred another single player game like A Fistful Of Boomstick.

Nice to see the RE4 remake getting such stellar reviews. I still am cautious about it though, given the original is one of my all time favorites and I can’t possibly expect the remake to surpass it.

I gotta say, as much as I love the series and as someone who never got to play RE4 upon release, I wasn't terribly blown away by the demo. It looked good but it's a bit too action-heavy for my tastes, something I didn't like with RE: Village. I may try it out one day but going to save my money for now. I found it a bit too tough, easy to get swarmed, and the combat didn't feel fluid and impactful enough for how many enemies you clearly have to go up against at one time.

You probably wouldn’t like the OG 4 either then as it’s known for when the series started to take a more action-oriented direction. For me, RE5 and RE6 leaned far too into this, while 4 at least was still packed with horror elements, and it didn’t really bother me. If one is all about the horror, though, the best bets IMO would be 1 and 7.

I always got the vibe that 5 and 6 definitely leaned too heavily into that approach. It's just not for me. I didn't feel like the combat was tight or powerful enough for how many enemies they throw at you, but I know that's subjective and I'm in a very tiny minority with that thought. I'll likely check it out eventually still.

5 and 6 definitely took it too far. Revelations took the games back to being more focused on horror than action. But I feel that Revelation is forgotten now, as fans cite 7 as being the series' return to horror!

As for 4, I don't see the point in remaking it, when it was ported to last gen consoles. I think a Code Veronica remake would have been better.

Definitely. At least there were co-op campaigns so the suffering didn’t have to be done alone! And Wesker carries 5; hard to believe he became even cheaper after RE4 Mercenaries, the SOB! Second to just GE Oddjob in that department.

Most agree 4 didn’t really need it, and my fear is they’d butcher it, but I’ll have to see it through still as a big fan. I’m dying for a Code Veronica remake.

That's high on my wishlist on RE games. Code Veronica X was actually one of the 2 games I bought along with my PS2 way back when.

What I really want, is another game with Jill. I am one of the few that liked the RE3 remake, as flawed as it was.

I also liked the RE3 remake a lot, although I haven’t played the original so I’m not the best source on that. More Jill or Claire is ideal for me, and less Chris at this point. Would be interesting if 5 and 6 were totally overhauled as reimaginings that were mostly horror based, or at least significantly more.

I have played the original RE3, but a long time ago. I only remember one section that was cut for the remake, the Clock Tower. There may have been more.

Any fans of the Diablo series here? I got to fire up the Diablo 4 open beta before it ended this morning, and while I've never once played anything in the series before today, that was a hell of a lot of fun I had on there.

Any good? I’m interested in buying it.
  • @MaxCasino I totally recommend it! Though it's a little different from the first RE 4 theirs a few tiny changes but not much.

Just found it for £5 from a game shop in town, my collection of Bond games is pretty good now.

Skyfall pre title sequence opens the game interesting, I have never played this game previously.

Now a girl painted in gold, I think I am going to enjoy this, I am loving the game soundtrack.

This game is certainly more frantic than Goldeneye 007 Reloaded and Quantum of Solace.

Just watched a few reviews on YouTube it appears to be a divisive game, at this stage I am just enjoying playing another Bond game. Some have compared it to a Call of Duty type game? I am easy to please I was just buzzing off seeing Legendary Bond characters on the menu screen lol.

I never bought it at the time, because I could never get passed the concept of crow-barring Craig into events that in the reboot timeline, aren't supposed to have happened.

I can understand that, initially I thought similar with regards to Goldeneye 007 though it ended up being a really good game.

Regrading 007 Legends I was likely in a phase of not playing games at all when it was released, until today I had no idea it had a tie in to the 50th anniversary.

007 Legends has its faults, but it’s a better game than it gets credit for. Do be aware @Fire_and_Ice_Returns that the actual ending of the game was a download that can no longer be accessed. The only complete version of the game that has the ending levels on the disc is the WiiU version.

Interesting what film does the ending levels reference? The game play is arguably the weakest aspect of 007 Legends up to now though I am still on the Goldfinger section, I am having fun with the game nonetheless.

My attempts at being stealthy are thwarted almost immediately (stealth is not very good) so it just ends up being an all out fire fight which had made a few sections literally completed in minutes.

    https://www.pcgamesn.com/resident-evil-4-remake/lily-gao-ada-wong-harassment

This is just a really, really sad thing and has no place anywhere ever. Having watched the remake, I agree that Gao wasn’t the best in her role, but harassing someone is just never okay. A really bad look for the community. I wish Gao success and strength in dealing with this toxicity.

I heard about that @FoxRox. It the kind of thing that tars us all. haven't played the RE4 remake yet, though it appears her voice acting is a common complaint. But the early RE games had some notorious voice acting.

For sure. Just going way too far.

Finished seeing the remake the whole way through. Obviously, it was never necessary and not as great as the original (I'm kind of stunned how many people are saying the opposite, and wondering if it is the honeymoon phase talking), but on the whole very impressive and lovely. I applaud everyone who worked on it for obviously putting in a lot of effort and delivering a cool new experience. There were things cut that I missed and some elements changed I didn't care for, but also admittedly some nice improvements and awesome surprises, too!

The original RE4 is just one of those really, really special games that has an immovable place in my heart. I played it much later than most, but still several years ahead of the remake. Played it countless times already and will surely do so as long as I'm able. I feel lucky to have been alive in a time where this and so many other great things existed :)

Didn't the same thing happen to Laura Baily, because of TLOU2?

The ending levels play out a few scenes from SF. They’re certainly not the best levels in the game, but it’s annoying to be without them nonetheless.

Just picked up a copy of nightfire for £1 its given me a great excuse to buy another PS2 console so I can further indulge my Bond game retrospective or in a few cases first time playing.

Starting to build a collection, I also have the digital game GoldenEye 007 Remastered part of the RARE REPLAY bundle. Going to have a quick blast on GoldenEye 007 Remastered now, been so busy in recent weeks hardly played it since I bought it.
