Much appreciated! :) I need to get to OHMSS soon!
Interesting. Good to at least know it should still be in the works and coming eventually. I see no reason not to include all the short stories so we have a completely complete Fleming Folio set! I just started on OHMSS in my marathon actually to kick off the new year.
What would be the reason it wouldn't be included? Thanks also for the info on this missing edition!
Just because '007 in New York' wasn't originally released with the collection. I think it was only added in 2002? But I suspect they'll probably include it.
For some reason, I'm not expecting 007 in New York to be in there. I think perhaps because it was never a 'proper' short story. I'd rather it be in there of course. The more the merrier!
And as I've said on this thread before, Property of a Lady wasn't even in the first UK hardback. It was a really slim book when it first came out.
That's my UK 1st on top of my Folios. As you can see, it could use a bit of beefing up!
'The Property of a Lady' (The Ivory Hammer, 1963) also wasn't included in Octopussy until the Pan paperback edition in 1967 so hopefully* both extra stories will appear in this collection. However, the fact the Folio Society is referring to it as Octopussy and The Living Daylights, the Jonathan Cape first edition title, makes one wonder a little...

Beautiful collection! The UK First is an awesome inclusion too. Three away from completing my own, four including Octopussy.

The Dalton Live and Let Die cover illustration is one of my favourites of the current Folio editions. If you study the picture, and read that scene in the book, it's spot on.
I think it was only LALD, which seems a strange choice but I expect they had their reasons!
When it comes to Fleming, from what I've seen, Folio use the original text. And I love them for it.
It has the chapter title, but the flyleaf notes 'This edition follows the text of the first edition with minor emendations'.
So I learned a new word :) however I'm not up for a side by side comparison at this time of night!
For example, my 1956 Pan paperback has. .
in M's green ink that had said, you may need this.
In my recent Folio edition, it says
in M's green ink that had said, 'you may need this'.
I think the minor emendations are just about grammar.
Interesting! Thank you.
I picked this one up a while ago too, for quite cheap. A strange one-off that folio did back in the day. I agree that Dalton's illustrations are superior.
The delay for 'Octopussy' is farcical. How long has it been now between releases? It's the only one left to complete my collection.
