It seems that my theory may have come true. Some of my other guesses about other villains showing up are Ventriloquist, Victor Zsasz, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Ratcatcher, Maxie Zeus, Duela Dent, Mad Hatter, Professor Pyg, FireFly, Punchline and surprisingly, a Superman villain: Toyman. We know that Harvey Dent will be in the movie. I hope more comic book villains (and characters) are in this time.
Fair enough, but like you said in other media, the Penguin is a bit overused, and not always in the best way (TAS surprisingly, in particular).
Joker has been used a lot, yes, but the likes of Nicholson, Ledger and Phoenix have done such a wonderful job, that it's hard to dismiss their legendary portrayals as an "overuse" of a character. Leto was barely present in SS at all (which was, in fact, a common criticism towards the film, showing that audiences still want more Joker), and a mere cameo in Snyder's Cut of JL. As for the mystery voice at the end of The Batman, I'd say it's unfair, at this point, to refer to that as "using" Joker (if it is Joker) at all.
Then there's the animated stuff, but do we want to call Hamill's pivotal work or Emerson's surprisingly delightful line-reading an "overuse"?
I'm biased, I know. I love the Joker. Such a weird, enigmatic, funny and yet also frightening character. When he pops up, you've got my attention. It's hard for me to associate the character with "too much of a good thing". I think that every iteration of the Batman will, somehow, bring with it at least one version of the Joker. Hence why Keaton, Bale, Affleck, and perhaps even Pattinson have (had) their own Joker. He's the salt on our fries: at some point, people want it. But, I agree that Joker shouldn't stand in the way of other villains making their long overdue entree in the live-action films too.
Well said. Lex and Zod are guilty of holding other villains back for Superman in the movies. Doomsday in BVS is technically the two combined!
I like this possible casting.
Yes, however, it sounds like it’ll just be Harvey Dent in The Batman Part 2. It also sounds like Dent will feature in Joker Folie à Deux. Maybe they’ll do with Harvey’s transformation what Joker did with The Wayne’s murders. I’m still hoping for more comic book characters!
I know quite a few people who are big Batman fans. The fact that the Batman Arkham games were so big and are still played quite a bit helps. Also even with DC's cinematic failures for some reason fans seemed to like Ben Affleck's Batman (not quite sure why to be honest), Joker, and The Batman too of course. Heck, the only ones out of those latter films I really got into was The Batman, and I'm excited to see part 2. So Batman fans are definitely more spoiled for choice maybe than Bond fans are, at least at the moment.
I didn’t even think of Reeves, @Feyador — good call!! He’d be excellent. Bring some zip and powerful images. I had my issues with his The Batman and its pacing (but enjoyed it more on a second watch, and I think I missed the point that he was doing a slow burn noir (grumpy mood during the first watch)), but there’s no doubt he’d capture something quite special.
Obviously he's doing Batman, so Bond won't be in the stars for him at the moment. But I agree, he'd be great.
We are in Batman's 85th anniversary year. I'm happy that we are getting at least two guaranteed movies in the next five years, Joker 2 and The Batman Part 2. I know some people have mixed feelings about Joker 2 being a musical. I'll still give it a chance, as all I want are some more characters from the comics. We are truly lucky, as with Bond, Batman has the right people in charge. Even Joel Schumacher and Zack Snyder were basically pressured by WB for different reasons. Let's hope that we get some great news with Batman throughout the year!
Batman monologues is what i loved to be honest

Could he win another Oscar for playing the Joker.
I agree. Earlier, I was theorizing that Brendan Gleeson is Dr. Hugo Strange. Or that Hugo Strange is going to be in the movie. Now I'm thinking Steve Coogan is him. I'm slowly warming up to the idea of it being a musical. Lady Gaga looks truly promising as Harley Quinn. I'm still looking forward to it, fully.
Likewise, dissapointed when I saw it was exclusive.
Me three. I feel it’s just trying to milk the Arkham name.
