Didn't Daniel Craig star alongside Kidman as well just before landing Bond? It'd be a cool little coincidence/nice repeating of events if Dickinson got the role too after that film was released.

You mean The Invasion? Yes, he shot that one right before CR, even though it didn't release until 2007.

A blond actor is but a dye away from not being a blond actor. I don't think the hair colour is an issue. Connery wore a toupée and that didn't present a problem either.

How about this, they don't dye his hair and you've got a title right here:

    Yes you're right.

Is Nicole Kidman some kind of training scenario that potential Bond actors have to go through?

If so, I'd like to test for the role. Doesn't matter if I don't get it.

That's it. Not that it was a hugely successful film, but it's always a bonus when the lead actor can hold their own alongside an actress like Kidman (even Cruise in Eyes Wide Shut didn't quite match up to her, although it works given the character dynamics in that particular film).

Haha. I'd like to think after Moore and Craig though the Bond series is past caring about the actor's hair colour.

I still think the franchise needs to go younger, going to throw my hat in the ring for Harris Dickinson again.

Not a bad shout, although he looks like one of my favourite footballers, Fernando Torres, in the last pic 😅

If we're aiming younger I still think George MacKay could be a dark horse. I've only seen him in 1917, but his intensity and vulnerability grounded the film massively. Really underrated.
Good shout - MacKay was excellent in Femme too. The guy can clearly act, even if he might not be the most obvious candidate.

Have seen numerous X posts this morning about actor Harris Dickinson, mostly from thirsting fans. I've never seen anything he's in yet, but he's staring in an upcoming A24 picture with Nicole Kidman, got his start young in theater, and wrote and directed a debut film when he was a teen. Has a few writing/directing credits along with his acting. Could be an interesting contender.

from Kingsman movie (I didn't watch past the first one):

He was asked about replacing Craig back in July: https://www.koimoi.com/hollywood-news/james-bond-the-kings-man-fame-harris-dickinson-reacts-to-replacing-daniel-craig-reports-says-youd-be-a-fool-to-not-entertain-that-role/

    He's 27.

Bumping this as he's back in the mix (on here) it seems. And here's my old list:

Keeping in mind the popular thinking is they want a younger/30ish Bond (and assuming he's white):

    Who?
    Fabien Frankel
    Paul Mescal
    Luke Thompson
    Jonathan Bailey
    Tom Brittney
    Joey Batey
    Tom Glynn-Carney
    Joe Alwyn
    Callum Turner
    Johnny Flynn
    Callum Woodhouse
    Nicholas Ralph
    Jack Lowden
    Fionn Whitehead
    Thomas Doherty
    Tom Bateman

    Popular/Rumorful/Asked About It
    Aaron Taylor Johnson
    Nicholas Hoult
    Josh O'Connor

    Potential Age Fudge Zone
    Aidan Turner
    James Norton
    Richard Madden
    Oliver Jackson-Cohen

Noted but Might've Missed the Bond Boat
    Regé-Jean Page
    Henry Cavill
    Sam Caflin
    Jamie Dornan
    Jonas Armstrong

Likely Aged Out But Maybe Could Make It Work
    Sam Heughan
    Tom Hiddleston
    Idris Elba
    Luke Evans
    Joe Armstrong
    Tom Hardy

    Not Quite There/Been There
    Michael Fassbender
    Matt Smith
    Benedict Cumberbatch
    Taron Egerton
    Jamie Bell
    Eddie Redmayne
    Dominic Cooper
    Harry Styles

Now ... going to cite back to this anytime we discuss the handful of longshot, wildcard, non-traditional options.

I am pretty sure I am not the first to throw this out there, but I'll do so at the risk of repetition -- How about a Paloma film while we wait on another Bond film ? Of course, "her" Bond was killed (or was he ?) and she really would not seemlessly blend in with any new Bond, but just don't do that. Just her. Her own film...or streamer...

Amazon might go for it, but it is am absolute no go for EoN.

Personally, the Craig universe is done; it’s time to move on.

I wouldn’t have minded a Moneypenny spinoff with Harris, but as talos says, the time for that has passed.

Suter's a good actor, he's got the physique and he doesn't have any of ATJ's voice issues. If I did have a reservation, it'd be that he can sometimes look a bit too much of an all-around 'nice guy' without the beard. Mind you, that might not manifest once he was actually channelling the character of Bond, so it's not a deal-breaker for me. Definitely worth a screentest.

From what I’ve seen of him he appears to possess the same quality that would have made Hugh Jackman a great choice; he has the physicality and intensity but also a light, almost boyish charm. He could be a melding of Moore and Craig.

Given that this is what the John Wick franchise is doing (Ballerina), with de Armas as lead, our wishes may come true, if we suspend our disbelief somewhat (I say that as a fan of Cuba in NTTD and Wick).

I just watched HE WENT THAT WAY, terrific performance from Jacob Elordi. Not only does he look like a movie star, but he was seriously great. Highly recommend and it's only 90 minutes.

He was also asked about Bond whilst promoting Saltburn and responded enthusiastically

What aspects of James Bond do you see in his acting so far? He's probably too tall and a little too pretty on the surface, and I haven't seen him offer much more than that.

I thought that film had some not great reviews. I'm not really convinced by Elordi, I'm not sure why his name comes up so much.

To be fair to him he's been in things like Euphoria and Saltburn which have their fans, and he's a young (and actually rather famous - slightly more than up and coming anyway) actor who is recognisable.

But it's a no from me. I like him as an actor but I think he lacks the charisma, grit and physicality for Bond (I always say that out of him and Barry Keoghan I think the latter would make a better Bond! Not to say I think he's right either, but I think he's got more qualities which would make a good Bond).

I don't think EON is going to hire another Australian actor, or rather a non-British actor.

I guess they'd be open to anyone from the commonwealth really. Even then didn't Goran Visnjic audition in 2005? I think he was dropped pretty quickly because he couldn't do the accent, but still. Just depends on if they think the actor has potential I suppose...

I would put Elordi in the ‘likeable but limited’ category based on what I have seen him in (Saltburn and Priscilla) - he could be a decent shout to play Leiter (which he is probably too famous for, at this stage) but I could not imagine him as Bond.

After Skyfall I can't imagine a non-British actor in the role.

I agree ; know things like this are subjective, but something about him that rubs me the wrong way. I don’t particularly like his look or the personality he generally projects. I definitely don’t see anything in him that suits playing Bond.

Now, with that said, I think he’s a good choice to play “ the monster “ in del Toro’s Frankenstein.

Yes, Keoghan is closer to the right type of actor for me too: he's got presence and fills the screen up. I wouldn't go for him either, and I don't think he'd do it, but more qualities which suit a Bond is the right way of putting it.
