100%. She has some cool action sequences in Westworld.

    She's 12!

    ok, 22, but still.

I'm not too enchanted to be honest.

A Bond girl who can act is a good starting point.

Meg Bellamy's sort of like a posh Michelle Ryan, right? She could play Chloe Slater in Eastenders - Zoe's daughter who was given up for adoption at birth and landed with an upper class couple. Hey, I haven't actually seen Eastenders since about 2006, so that could even have happened, I dunno.

Since we're talking about actresses from The Crown, I'm surprised no one's suggested Emma Corrin.

They're non-binary, so I'd say actor would be a more appropriate term. But they were great at playing young Diana so I'd love to see them have a role in a Bond film.

I've just seen Hit Man on Netflix she was fantastic in it. She'd make a great Bond girl

Korean actress Han Hyoo-joo. She was in Treadstone, but I feel that shouldn't be held against her, she's great when she gets a good script (see K-dramas Happiness and Moving).

I still want deepika padukone to be a Bondgirl. Fantastic actress and as sensual as Fiona Volpe

It's 2023. Does a woman have to be beautiful to be a Bond woman?

Sure. Why should they cast ugly people in the role? Part of the Bond fantasy is that 007 encounters villains who are larger than life, women who are stunning to look at, locations that we can only dream of visiting, and situations more dangerous than we could handle in real life. But, evidently, "beautiful" is subjective, so I'm merely talking abstractly.

It's 2024. Bond women should all be modelled on Rosa Klebb and Irma Bunt. Come on!

You're right, @Dragonpol. ;-) A 'new' generation of Bond girls is coming. ;-)

Seriously, though, I don't think anyone is saying that the looks of a Bond girl are all that matters. But good-looking people, men and women alike, are part of why we love cinema. I fail to see why a (not the only, but a) focus on looks is somehow "wrong" in 2024...

What is the concern? The Craig era was not lacking any beauties.

It's actually incredible the caliber of talent the Craig era attracted, beyond the usual models and television actresses that used to fill the parts. If we're being honest. I think Eon has proven they can cast beautiful women in compelling roles.

It’s a very small minority who will ever be offended by seeing beautiful people who have won the genetic lottery, up on the big screen.

Of course there will be gorgeous women in Bond films. I think modern audiences just want them to actually be dimensional and not there just so Bond can have a shag. Audiences want a little more depth. That’s all.

Well to be fair, Lotte Lenya and Ilse Steppat were quite attractive in their younger days.

Just like Bond is a wish fulfillment for men (handsome and attractive, enjoying luxuries, sophisticated and can travel around the world with some adventures, and gets to worked with beautiful women and impress them by his wits and charm), it's the same for Bond girls: beautiful, can wear beautiful dresses, glamorous, enjoys luxuries, gets to hang out with James Bond himself (who has qualities that both men and some women liked), a Bond Girl is what every woman and girls were dreaming of to be, a wish fulfillment, the same could be apply for the villains as well: rich, have lairs, beautiful female liaisons, power and world domination plots, all in all, the James Bond Franchise is a wish fulfillment for everyone who wants to enjoy the life like how Bond, the Bond Girls and the Bond villains does.

After all, they wouldn't cast someone who looked like Curt Jurgens or Adolfo Celi in the role of Bond, and if you find a girl or a woman who dreams to be like Betty La Fea, then you're lucky.

But of course, a Bond Girl needs to have their agency, traits, abilities and skills that makes them believable as a character and more relatable, and a bit realistic.

That's fair enough. Everyone looks better when they're younger. I was being facetious of course.
