    The SF coat is actually a nicer coat. Brosnan looks great in his though. In terms of what I'd wear though it's the SF one.

    Brosnan looks great, but, I'd be swallowed up in his coat.

    The SF jacket would fit me better, and so this is the one I'll choose!

    Much as I prefer the Barbour, it is an odd jacket, with armholes oddly slightly too high, and it's made from a fabric which doesn't allow your skin to breathe (not even a small patch of skin on the spine left open) and so when you take it off it's often dripping wet on the inside. I've finally worked out this isn't sweat so much as condensation from your body. I do like to wear it occasionally but you have to keep an eye on how much it's steaming up in there!

    I'll go with the SF Barbour jacket too. I would never look good in a leather jacket, unfortunately!

    I'm actually tempted to get a wax jacket myself (not the one Craig is wearing though). Do anyone here have any experience with these types of jackets and coats, and how easy is the care and maintenance of the fabric?

    I guess since we’re on the subject of coats; I prefer Dalton’s leather jacket in TLD to both the options here if I’m being honest.

    I must admit I do need to re-wax mine now I think. I have a tub of wax, just need a warm day and to remember to do it!

    I have a soft spot for the jacket from TND; the PTS is one of my favorites of the franchise and Pierce looks great . But, the style of the jacket is very much of the era and would now look dated

    I'll go with Dan's SF jacket rather than Pierce's TND leather. The Barbour always looked a bit restrictive around the shoulders, but the size of the collar on the TND jacket rules that out for me. The SF Barbour and the tight grey suit with a short jacket were major influences on UK men's fashion back then - never seen so many people going for aspects of a Bond look as they did with the impact of SF. Even sales of cutthroat razors increased massively! All that positivity around our series was great to see. Dan genuinely did make Bond legitimately cool again.

    Good stuff, I learn so much from you all! I stand corrected that Daniel's coat isn't leather.

    How about another lifestyle one, but we shall pause the fashion and talk drink:

    Would you rather drink a 30 year old fine indifferently blended with an overdose of bonbois OR Saki served at the proper temperature?

    One of my favourite spirit and mixer drinks is brandy and ginger ale. Not sure if the brandy being disappointing would make much of a difference in that case... I do like saki as well, but I'll go for the brandy.

    When I was a teenager, we got a hold of one our parents bottles of Brandy. And that was the first, and last time I touched the stuff (technically the second time I tasted it was when it was on the way out of my stomach)…

    I thought that as well, when I checked for the spelling it said you can do Sake Sake with an accent and Saki. I will change the title to reflect the spelling of Sake. ;)

    Not a specialist on either account, personally I'm more of a European winedrinker, but I am always interested in learning new things. Given Bond's reactions though, I'd say the brandy isn't very well done, while the saké is, so I'll go for the saké here.

    At least with the cognac you don't have to worry about the exact temperature. In Fahrenheit, to boot.

    I had sake once and didn't like it much, so brandy by default.

    It occurred to me that twice our man was required to take a boat with a Russian. Which scenario would you rather do?

    In one you are merely passengers. The Russian is hostile in one, but shows signs of warming up. In one you are chased by the enemy, in the other you are left unconscious. In one you are wearing a tux and she is in a formal gown, the other you are wearing a pea coat and captains hat while your Russian lady is wearing day wear.

    How is that process like, @mtm? Do you just rub a decent amount of wax on the fabric, and wipe off?

    Lets have a battle of the Connery attire! I think Goldfinger features Connery in some splendid attire.

    I guess the three-piece is the more iconic, but it's a bit much really and... pleated trousers... so I'd go for the Swiss look.

    The grey Goldfinger suit, I love it.
    Probably the best suit of the series, along with Daniel's navy three piece suit at the end of Casino in my opinion
