Really good film. Denzel Washington is a force of nature in the film and plays a seriously despicable character. But all the cast are top notch. Especially loved the scene where Ethan Hawke's character gets stuck with some card playing Latino's, and slowly realises he's been set up. Tense stuff.
Not sure how this stayed off my radar for so long.
Great film, and that sequence you mention is agonisingly tense! Washington is superb!
Yep. A tremendous actor.
The first Robocop film is a masterpiece of the genre, you need to watch it.
There is one particular scene in the film which is perfection with regards to the score and what a particular character is going through, one of my favorite scenes in cinema.
No Time to Die (yes. REALLY!!)
The Godfather Part II (and Part III)
A Good Day to Die Hard
Gone with the Wind
Empire of the Sun
Sunset Boulevard
Some Like it Hot
Dune parts 1 and 2
Avatar: The Way of Water
Solo
Wow! Star Wars and Empire are essential! :D
Absolutely right! Robocop is so good i'm actually jealous of people viewing it for the first time! One of the best genre films ever made IMO.
If you see just one of those films, I recommend.......'Some Like it Hot'! classic comedy
(I bet you thought I'd say 'NTTD' 😏)
You should definitely check out NTTD. It's not as bad as those who haven't seen the film like to claim. ;-)
You're lucky... :D
I remember the first time I watched it i was blown away it was quite a phenomenon at the time of release for its violence and social satire.
I have a soft spot for that absolute train wreck, great cast which makes me re visit the film from time to time. I have CR67 on DVD, Bluray and digital download.
I have a soft spot for it too! Particularly the music which is wonderful, I play the soundtrack all the time!
The title theme is very catchy and you can't go wrong with Burt Bacharach songs, and the actresses in CR67 are absolutely gorgeous.
I am a fan of Whats New Pussycat which is quite similar to the anarchic style of CR67.
It's one of the most fascinating screw-ups in the history of cinema, a delight to explore -- and I am talking about the film as well as its production history. The film itself looks very good, sounds great, has a killer score, features a stellar cast, the most handsome ladies in the entire Bond series, a few seriously good jokes, amazing sets, and outstanding opening titles. It is also a mess, a catastrophe, a hodgepodge of weirdly sawn together pieces of film made by different people. It's not a Bond film at all! However, I can only urge people to seek it out and see it in a time capsule--to travel back to the sixties, to when Peter Sellers was acting up, and to when the famous Charles K. Feldman was trying hard to get a Bond film made. With the proper expectations, this film can be a delight. Just don't expect a Bond film because you won't see one.

Chinatown is a masterpiece a brilliant Neo Noir, one of my favorite films.
If you get round to watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy you will be in for a treat, some of the best films ever made.
I absolutely adore the original Peter Jackson trilogy, with especially Fellowship standing out, Sean Bean's Boromir I think is the best character of the trilogy.
The Hobbit trilogy, unfortunately, bores me slightly. Especially the last one is a quest in itself to sit through.
The Rings of Power I should probably include here too, even though it's technically just a tv series, felt like fan fiction to me.
So my advice is to just check out the original trilogy.
Not a fan of 'The Hobbit' series, just felt like 'seen it all before' about it!
Me too I was lucky enough to see all three LOTR's films on the biggest screen in the country at the time.
The moment I saw the Argonath I said to myself this is one of the greatest films of all time.
Gollum's Song SPOILERS.
The score for the LOTR's trilogy is amazing.
I watched these films on 4K last Christmas I am going to have to watch them again this Christmas. You don't watch LOTR's trilogy you experience it, its a an emotional journey.
Correct. Unlike The Hobbit, though.
It could have been a fun adventure in its own right, but alas they treated it as if it was LOTR, which it just isn't.
Not at all. Consider the first Hobbit film. It starts with 45 minutes of
"You must help us!"
"I won't."
"But you must."
"I don't want to."
"But we need you."
"I said no."
"Okay, then we'll leave."
"Wait, I'll come."
At least it's one way to fill the required 2.5 hours...
